Subject: Problem With the rules

In response to the original topic: Stop nit-picking.

In response to the "no threads about moderators" rule: That rule was suggested by a majority of the members and is there to benefit the community. How does knowing how many PMs a moderator gets or what the moderators' favorite type of music is affect the community as a whole? It doesn't help one bit, so that is why that rule is around. Now, if you wish to discuss why you think the moderators might not be doing their job properly or something else along those lines, feel free to create a thread since it affects the whole community.

Yes. But you do realize what I am saying. However, threads asking a moderator their favorite color can die. If they really want to know that then they can PM one of you guys. But a thread asking what the community's favorite moderator is community involving.

Thats pointless and it just amounts to ass kissing and a dman popularity contest. Whats the difference between that thread topic and "Who's your fav Bungie.net user?". Nothing. The whats stopping people from asking "What mod do you hate the most" and then asking "What user do you hate most". Its a slippery slope I dont care to see the community place its foot on. Theyre members like us. Respect them like you respect anyone else. The only difference between the 2 is that they have volunteered and been chosen to make sure things run fairly smooth around here and topics like the ones I stated above would hamper that.

Except "What is your favorite moderator?" would get locked for being related to moderators, while a "What is your favorite member?" would get locked for being a popularity contest. Both threads would be stupid, of course.

And a "What moderator do you hate the most?" would be locked because its sole purpose is to flame and belittle.

A "What is your favorite moderator?" is not a popularity contest. Not unless a moderator created it (unlikely). It would be the community deciding on a select few, not the select few trying to gain favor. Sure there would be brown-nosing, but that is always inevitable.
