Oh, and don't forget people. The assault rifle and teh shineyz are sold separately, and does not come with your copy of Halo PC. Including a lot of other cool effects that you don't see, like compare the teleporter doors in Halo PC and the ones on the Xbox version. The Xbox version has some really cool teleporters, like giant wall-mounted lava-lamps.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

PC version had nice effects on the Teleporters also, as long as you ran the game using Shader Model 2.0 activated. (if you graphics card supports it, type -use20 after the shortcut link on your desktop ) (first click properties on the s.cut). Though Halo should do that automatically if your graphics card supports Shader Model 2.0 anyway.

I agree, Gearbox did make a bit of a mess with the port. Then to top it off, they blamed Bungie for communications errors, which just showed them up completely, just trying to pass off the blame. Now we can be more hopefull, as a team (Hired Gun) are porting the game in house, with MS. Gearbox have been dumped.

Quite likely. Now everyone, imagine this development.....for about 4 different OS's? It would take not only more time, but it would be done less well. This is for all those doubting that making the game Vista only is in any way a good thing.

They'll probably port it to Mac in a few years.

What it is.

i went from a like a 32MB Nvidia card to an ATI 9600SE to a 9800PRO and then had problems so i had to downgrade to my 9600SE again, but then my mobo screwed up so i had to use a 9150 PCI Card...so then i saw that i could get real good performance for a nice price compared to the ATI cards, so i went and bought myself a XFX 7900GT w/ VIVO, and to this day i do not have any regrets, and i think nvidia won me over kinda, oh, and Catalyst CC is anoying and takes up too much mem...anyway, that;s my cup of tea.

Well I've got a... 7300LE!!!!! But I am trying to decide weather to wait for DX10 nVidia cards or weather to get a X1950XTX

Wait. Wait for the Geforce 8 series, they're out next week. Also, a Geforce 8800 is gunna be $420/£220, which seems to be actually cheaper than a X1950XTX. I don't know your preferance on ATI or Nvidia. If i were you, i would get another Nvidia, since their DX10 cards are out in several days and i don't think ATI's are for another month or so...dunno.

Hmm. Apparently the Geforce 8 launch card won't support Unified Shaders, which is a DX10 feature. If this is true i won't be buying a Nvidia, but still is not certain.

ATI has better active camo and various other advantages so I will have to go with ATI.

I own an BFG 7600 GT And it handles Quake 4, D00M 3 & Halo at Maxed settings.
-So this has been mentioned before in this thred, nVidia does have a better price, performance ratio. My card is 160 something bucks at newegg.com.

But for Halo? ATi is the recommended Card for rendering this game. The pixle shader, and overall GPU architecture works better with Halo, than any nVidia card.

I would love to give y'all more details but im a bit lazy right now. : )

actually, only the GTX requires the double 6 pin plug. Stupidly enough, the card is almost a foot long as well.

All the Geforce 8's are being released with Unified Shading architecture. They will all support DX10. The Geforce 8800GT will be the best one to get, it won't need aditional power, won't be a foot long and will be the best priced!

How much? Do you have an estimate?

I read $449 and $649, more than a -blam!- PS3.

That's the RRP. After about 3 weeks, competition between vendors will set in and my guestimate of $420/£220 will come true! Don't forget these cards will be about 5 times what a PS3's wildest dreams could perform at anyway, they won't be essential for PC gaming for about 3 years :P

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

NOOOO! Do not start this crap again! All this will do is start a huge flame war between poeple who "think" they are expert on graphics technology.
