MSXL: The Last Honest Chapter

I already sent this bug in, but I was wondering if any chapter founders have been experiencing this.

Basically, when I went to my chapter, I saw that both a news story and a member were in queue to be excepted. I also noticed that there were some unread recent forum posts, so I went to those first. When I got to the forum, *POOF* no new forum posts! Then when I went back to the main page of my chapter, the items in queue were gone! I decided to refresh my page. Magically the queue reappeared. I did the same in the forum and then the new posts appeared. However, after a second refresh they were gone again!

Once again, I already notified bungie about this bug, so don't bother, but just wanna make sure it is universal.

On a similar note, I noticed that after I first edited my account settings, the changes didn't take effect. I had 3 bungie.net windows open at the time, so I wonder if that's what caused my problem.

UPDATE: This also happens with news posts. The most recent 3 news posts seem to appear and dissappear at random everytime I refresh/revisit the page. I have a feeling this is a cache issue, but I am waiting for an answer to my bug report.

Yes. There sems to be a big problem with posting in forums in Chapters.

When you reply to a post - it brings up a different chapters post to reply to.
'The 5 most recent posts' on the main page change all the time. The same happens on the main forum page...

I'm not impressed.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

We're looking into the issue. One of the things that changed yesterday is that the database that services the chapter pages changed to a different, more powerful machine. We think one of the web servers serving chapters (there are two) is using the old database for news, forums, and databases.

Obviously, this is bad. Ops is investigating, and we hope to have it resolved soon.

Here's a question..
When the bug is fixed, will it delete anything we have entered, especially things added these last few days that seem to like to disappear?

I was wondering that myself. If the chapters are accessing the old servers rather than the new ones, than most likely any new content is also be added to the old servers. This may be a problem. I am gonna try not to post any new updates at MSXL just to be sure nothing is lost.

As far as refreshing goes, it doesn't actually fix the problem. Hell, I have even refreshed so I saw a news post, clicked on it, then gotten a screen saying it couldn't be found! Lamerz.

Yeah, anyone with substantial news updates or news they don't want to lose should probably copy/paste it to a word document and save it, just in case.

Oh thank god I'm not the only one having problems. I posted news last night and had the same problem. At first I thought I had more windows open than normal...but I didn't. I ended up remaking the news storie only to find out now that its missing. This concerns me, because my chapter is finally starting to roll and I don't want ppl to think its inactive.

The database issue that Achronos mentioned should be fixed. It's the same reason the original Prizetacular sign up database wasn't working properly. If you continue to have issues, let us know and send a mail to bnetbugs@microsoft.com.

That's good, I was wondering where my first news post after Bungie.net launched went. But it's justlike bungie to be on top of stuff like a fat kid on a cup cake.

Thanks, Sketch. It seems to be fixed. Unfortunately I lost some of the things I did yesterday, and a bunch of people lost their forum posts, but no biggie! Glad to have it working again.
