well, if you think about it... Starcraft is almost 10 years old, and it is still being updated! sure, it does have a larger fan base, but people are still buying halo pc. I'm quite sure that they could contract someone to create a cuple of updates to fix some little things *ie aim bot*

That's so Blizzard can say that they still care about Starcraft and then go back to swimming in cash that's made off of WoW.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

They, (MS, Bungie, Gearbox, Macsoft et al), have no incentive to fix or support Halo PC. They're coming out with a new version soon and they want you to spend your money on the new game.

Why pay a programmer to fix something that they want to fade away?

And sadly we have hit the nail on the head. Current Bungie employees are so far removed from HaloPC at this point they have no idea what is going on day in and day out. It's really sad that Bungie has basically thrown their best game ever made into the trash. Halo2 is pure trash, as many of us know, and they refuse to make Halo1 better or fix it because it is too difficult to look back and realize how much they screwed the pooch on H2.

Gearbox reps have made it very clear that problems like lag are a direct result of descisions forced upon them by Bungie. Now, when it comes to problems like aimbots or the TK/quit/TK exploit, it is unclear who bares responsibilty. What is clear is that no one from Bungie or Gearbox is doing anything about it.

I doubt a single Gearbox employee even plays Halo PC. And I know for a fact that none of them plays on their own Bungie servers, where most of the problems are. It's rather pathetic if you ask me.

This is what happens when you sell your game to a company like M$ that has no vested interest in the original product that those original Bungie guys put their sweat into making. In a way, those rich sell outs are to blame as well.

QFT!

I would just like to say here right now that WoW and Starcraft > Halo PC.

Yeah, Halo PC almost isn't worth playing anymore. Too many cheaters, and a majority of the community sucks.

Gearbox could fix this, ALL of this, if they didn't suck.

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

I still have fun, even though sometimes I have to play with the scum of the Earth...

There are so few aimbotters, I hardly come across them to be honest.

If you want an aimbot free environment, play in kw.

*sigh* No, I'm saying the exact opposite.
Gearbox is only to blame for as long as we believe it.

So as long as I believe 2+2=10, I'm right? If I kill someone, but I believe I didn't, I am not lying because I am convincing other people to believe I didn't commit a crime? You mind providing an actual source for that statement of yours that "a truth is only really true when it is believed by all"? The truth is the truth, and that's that. The facts are there, and only a stubborn, ignorant fool would pass them up.

Oh, by the way, I almost forgot to add the real definitions for "truth"...
1. the true or actual state of a matter
2. conformity with fact or reality
3. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like
4. an obvious or accepted fact

Source: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/truth

Fail. (and that's the truth ;-p)

*sigh* Some people... I'm refering the 'Mob Rule'. If a very large percentage (+90%) of a given population (say, Halo PC players) believe something, then it may as well be true. I could point out countless religions, but that would get me banned. And, no, I don't have a source for that. So sue me.

Wow, I cannot fathom your stupidity. You didn't even bother to read the second half of my post, did you? Apparently, from what you posted, you didn't, because you would have realized that your argument is not valid and you don't have a leg to stand on. Who cares if a majority believes something? As long as it is not based on FACT, it is NOT TRUE. No, there is no such thing as "sort of true", it's either true or it is false.

As for your point with religions, it doesn't matter whether what they believe in is true or false because they have the right to believe it. However, if something is proved false, but they continue to think it is true, it does not affect the true, fact-backed explanation behind it. If you want to believe that it is Gearbox's fault, fine, believe it, but it doesn't change the matter that the proof which you choose ignore clearly states that Microsoft, not Gearbox, is responsible.

Jcap, settle down; he was never saying it was Gearbox's fault. If you read before I also responded to that bit; his response was that the general amount of users will blame Gearbox because they don't know the truth. He was just pointing something out. No reason to go out and bite his head off.

I've found out why that strange thing happens.

basically when a thread gets moved, the replys show the old thread's forum as the title. very strange indeed.

If you want an aimbot free environment, play in kw.

ROFL! I can't believe you actually were able to type that and hit submit. You're right on that one point though, but here's the thing.

Most KWers hack in pubs "cause they don't count." On top of that, there are other ways to cheat in KW. Their admins are also players and tend to favor their own clan, such as {tEk}Chief, when a dispute happens, regardless of evidence. Piss off an admin with a good and honest opinion and find yourself banned on the spot. Ringing is extremely abundant in KW, and their non-ringing rule isn't enforced enough.

Of course, yeah, you have to record matches, so KW is an aimbot-free environment. But all the other crap nullifies that to the point where they all might as well just be aimbotting and getting away with it.

Oni Ryu, Halo PC is still worth playing, despite the fact there are lots of better game that I wouldn't mind playing myself. Also, there aren't that many cheaters I've met in games over the years. But a majority of the community does suck, I believe. Too many noobs that don't know how to shoot the other team so they melee their teammates in the back.

Uh huh, amazing that people so inexperienced in KW pretend to know it all in here.

Yes kw-12 Chief is the sucks, same with most admins, but in the end their obvious favouritism hardly effect anyone.

Maybe sucky clans use ringers but not good ones.

I don't hack in pubs, neither do 9.5/10 kwers that I know that pub. Have you ever tried the aimbot? Becuase if you have you have used it more than me.

Most crappy complaining clans ignore the rules and forget to takes match ss evidence, if you got a dispute against you this is the most likely reason.

In the end KW is an aimbot free environment. I get banned from public servers, I get accused of aimbotting, everything in pubs seems worse to me. I don't think any of you have spent enough time in kw to know.

jcap: Seriously, what's your point? As far as I've seen, all you've done so far on these forums is insult others and act as if you were some sort of forum demigod (EDIT: no pun intended there, demigod) on The Maw when in truth you've just shown up now. The only thing I've found is a cryptic message from another thread linking to this one, and only a tiny blurb about how it's microsoft's fault. To be honestl, I've seen you do far more insulting and member-bashing than I've seen of clearly stating your opinion, arguments, and facts.

I see where Dalmedya is coming from, he's using an Orwellian background for his argument, similar to that in his classic work 1984: if everyone believes truth to be a lie, it becomes a lie, especially if the truth is that heavily repressed. In fact, yes, 2+2 can make 5. Or 10.

And please, enough with the KW stuff. It used to be tolerable, but certain posts are coming out as just plain snobby. And trust me, by doing so, you're not helping your argument any more than I would by saying "I'm a senior member of this forum, ergo, my opinion goes."

=====><=====

As for the thread itself: As mentioned before, nobody is willing to take the responsiblity of a defunct, not so popular, and soon-to-be-replaced game.
