I thought this was very interesting.

Speeds
[Element Distance (m), Ave. Time (s), Velocity (m/s), Velocity (mph)]

* Rocket: 100m, 2.89s, 34.6m/s, 77.4 mph
* Running Spartan II: 50m, 7.27s, 6.88m/s, 15.5 mph
* Grenade Throw: 21.9m, 0.969s, 22.6m/s, 50.8 mph
* Needler Round: 50m, 4.07s, 12.3m/s, 27.6 mph
* Ghost Plasma Rounds: 156m, 1.72s, 90.6m/s, 203 mph
* Warthog: 96.4m, 4.70s, 20.5m/s, 46.1, mph [1] [2]
* Ghost: 97.9m, 4.95s, 19.8m/s, 44.5 mph [3]
* Tank: 94.7m, 7.66s, 12.4m/s, 27.8 mph [4]
* Tank Round: 297m, 0.941s, 316m/s, 709 mph

[1] The odd distance is due to the fact that the distance between the driver and the front of the Warthog is 3.6 meters. Head to head was 100 m, but one head was 3.6 meters behind the front grill.
[2] According to Charles Gough, the man responsible for the Warthog's behavior, on flat ground and with no air friction, the Warthog can do a bit over 52 mph.
[3] The body driving the Ghost is 2.1 meters behind the nose of the vehicle.
[4] Like the Warthog, the Tank driver sits back from the front of the vehicle - in this case, 5.3 meters.

Rates of Fire
[Weapon Rounds, Average Time (s), Rate of Fire (r/s)]

* Needler: 20 rounds, 2.24 s, 8.93 r/s
* Pistol: 12 rounds, 3.42 s, 3.51 r/s
* Assault Rifle: 60 rounds, 4.03 s, 14.9 r/s

Miscellaneous Values

* Maximum Grenade Throw Range Approx. 97m
* Maximum Running Jump Distance Approx. 7.75m
* Maximum Needler Round Range 62.2m
* Maximum Range of Ghost Plasma Rounds Approx. 155m
* Max Pistol Range 126.2m

Just another detail that Bungie added in Halo, that not a lot of people noticed, or realized

Given all the time they have had, and are having, on Halo 2, it's gonna be crazy to see what other small things they'll add into the game

No offense, but what does that have to do with my thread?

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Pretty interesting stuff. Good find Spartan 00029

Simple, and I thought it was obvious enough, but my bad; I guess I didn't make it clear

The whole Halo landscape can be measured out in meters, inches, etc.. So what I'm saying is, Halo is a game where you can actually find out these different measurements if you had the time

In some FPS, and other games, the proportions are so off, and the scale of the people or characters compared to the landscapes, buildings, etc. don't match up right

In Halo, they do

So what I'm saying is, Bungie did a very good job on making everything proportionate, from the Grunts, to the Pelicans and soldiers: whatever is in the game seems to fit right

Plus, the Sniper Rifle has the ability to find out this range, which is a pretty amazing little detail if you ask me

And once again, sorry for the vague-ass response I gave; almost made it seem like I didn't even read your post

No probelm, I would click the reference link if I didn't have to do a 500 word essay on the 1973 OPEC oil crisis. Ill bookmark this and reply to this again later, probably tomorrow.

In addition to your statement, here is the caption of the reference that backs your statement up:

Zachary Hahn was bored one day, and so he put together his copy of Halo and a Timex stopwatch and calculated a bunch of statistics about the various speeds of things in Halo. Most averages were calculated from 10 or 15 samples, and there was some rounding done here at HBO to conform with significant digit rules. A multiplayer mode with "Kill in Order" turned on with nav points provided the distance from head to head. If nothing else, you must admire the obscene attention to detail.

I think so

But don't ask me. I never play Halo multiplayer

Never been to a LAN or nothing :(

Are you serious??? Jeez, try it... NOW. Multiplayer is one of the most celebrated features of Halo.

It's not that I don't try it, it's because I don't know anyone who puts them on

I've played Halo multiplayer a bunch, but just never a 8on8 Blood Gulch game, for example

Sad, I know...Halo 2 is gonna rock my world :)
