If they ban man cannon I don't know what there will be to talk about here. The movies gone. Real information about Halo 3 is only allowed in magazines. All we have is some bad translation of a weapon name or something.

MAAAHN CAAAHNON!!!!!!!!!!
Man cannon is a close friend of the cornbrator.

Who gets offended by BK. I always think burger king. Now I'm hungry.

I usually call people n00bs. But only for good reason. For instance: A guy grabs a sniper and then flies in the banshee the whole game. I don't have a problem with people saying that. But i have to say. BK or bad kid has been getting on my nerves. It also makes the person who said it sound stupid. It is usually said by people under 15 years of age and who are usually cheaters.

And the one who uses the 'N' word sounds stupid as well.

If someone really does apply under the 'N' word category and are new to the game and may not know what 'Zoom' is, then they don't deserve to be called one. Instead they should be helped. Remember, everyone was a new player at one time.

Hmm, I think everyone is under the impression I meant "Add Bad Kid and BK to the -blam!- filter". That's unreasonable. I'm just wondering if it could get moved into the same category as the "n-word", where overuse of it in a negative way can get you a vacation from the forums..

I've noticed quite a few users who use it as an insult quite frequently, and they're still running about being jerks..

Meh, I guess I just have low self-esteem.. :(

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

I would literally laugh out loud if someone honestly called me a BK (or bad kid). I would be rolling on the floor. By the way, didn't that term come from a troll (or something else, I can't remember) but didn't that person get banned?

EDIT: Thread killer, YAY!

Its like if I came and kicked the ish out of you

Eh? I don't understand. Is that even possible?

So what I'm saying is we have to curtail the behavior that leads people to come up with or use insulting terms. Trying to stop the terms doesnt address the problem at all. And thankfully I think a good job is being down in curtailing bad behavior.

Hmm, however, it seems that the people throw this particular insult around, always seem to use that insult. It's just not a nice way to talk to people.

Yes, I do understand the 'bullying' concept. They're only winning because I allow it to bother me. Of course.

Do yo hang around the New Mombassa often? I've seen it far more often than '3 times'. Look, to me, it just fits in the category of calling someone a "noob". People shouldn't act like jerks to other people, even if it doesn't affect me directly.

"Nah, Rant, your idea is flawed, you're just a bad kid. Bad kids shouldn't come here."

I find it offensive, even if you think it's some sort fo "Expression of who they are".. Ok, they're expressing to me, that they think they're superior, and therefore act upon it, in the form of a jerk. Alright, let's ban jerks, then.

Ban jerks? What is this world coming to?
"Hey, you weren't nice to me! You offended me! I'm gonna go whine to someone and you'll get punished! I can't stand up for myself and shrug it off because you are immature, I must take it to heart and cause myself undue psychological damage, which will in turn cost me thousands of dollars in counseling fees which I could have avoided if I would have just stood up for myself and not whined to everyone in existance because I felt offended."

Ok, maybe I took that a little bit far, but you get my point.
We are becoming a world of weak people that whine and cry whenever we are "offended". Man up and take responsibility for yourself.

In everyday life? Jerks are jerks. They don't last long.

Here, on the forums? Some people are highly offensive, and start little flame wars, that eventually ruin threads, which ruin my ability to participate in threads.

I come here to participate.. And if jerks are abundant, then I can't.

Rant, jerks, in the outside world, can't really be jerks in the same way, in public. There's usually a lot less of them, and you just don't say certain things to someone's face.

Here, everyone has anonymity, and can say what they like.. In a way, people just get away with being rude. They don't respect other people.

And yes, I'm slowly killing them off, one by one..

Banning too many word is gonna lead to alot more confusion than we need, especially for the mods, its a waste of time.

I don't believe our moderators are confused.

Except Leche. He's always confused. And foolish. Especially after his most recent action..

To think that you come here to post in a meaningful way about meaningful topics in such forms as "New Mombasa" and "Halo 3" and "The Flood", well, I pity you...

Those forums are filled with the vast ignorant dregs of the Bungie.net community (and they are--for the most part--11-18 year old kids who are unbelievably immature).

Then, Savag3, you've obviously missed out on some large part of this community. I pity you.

I'm not looking for a consensus. I'm looking for people's opinions on such slang words being used. I'm not asking for some statistic to "prove" something should be banned. I stated that I dislike this word, what's everyone else's opinion on that? (And apparently, I was asking for everyone else's opinions on me, accidentally..)

And this is also true, jerks is a subjective word, and everyone has their opinion as to what one is.

Please, Bungie, limit our posts further. It's not bad enough in the political group forums that we have to jump through hoops to bypass the profanity filter just to say what we want to say when it comes to subjects like homo-blam!-ity.

Oh don't get me wrong, I post over in those forums, but I don't do so thinking that anyone actually cares about what I have to say, or with the intention of making a meaningful contribution, because it is useless, it'll just get flamed by wierd, immature people who I will not name because it will feed the fire of self-importance that they are obsessed with.

If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

Bad kid?....

You seriosly have problems if that offends you in any way. Same thing with the word NOOB. What the hell happened to freedom of speech?...sigh...
