What the hell happened to freedom of speech?...sigh...

In America? It still exists, last I checked.

On these forums? Pfft.
Welcome to Bungie.net. You have no rights. Have a nice day.

$x='print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x; ';
print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x;

I work at Microsoft. I have nothing to do with Halo and nothing I say is "the official word".

Even with the lack of rights on bungie.net aside, there are limits.
The classic one is yelling '"fire!" in a crowded theatre

Rant, actually, I'm not making a huge deal about it.. This thread was dying, and someone brought it up. I'm not holding the energy right now to debate it, and I was caught off guard.

Calling me 'close-minded' is ridiculous. I haven't, at all, disregarded the fact that most people don't have a problem with it. I never said they're idiots, I didn't tell them their wrong.

I gave my idea on the subject, and asked for opinions. Ok, I have opinions now, and I was hoping for some discussion on it. You keep saying the same things, over and over, Rant.

I don't really care if Bad Kid or BK isn't blocked on Bungie.net, but it should be in real life. All my friend says is "You're a BK." GAH! I want to kill him!

Truethfully I think that this forum is used to express views and oppinions. Bk and other terms are there way to express how they see those peoples skill. The terms obviously go both ways and if you ban those words people will just think of new ones. Which will result in the experiance in the forum going down, or better yet ban em... Great idea ban the poeple who keep this thing going. Everyone has used a insult in halo 2 sumtime or another and so you would have to ban many, and if that happens there will be less and less people here. No supply no demand. I also think that this discussion is quite childish and you all a bunch of Childish Kids (KD). Ooops might have created a new one.

no slang is called that for a reason to be able to use it so other inexperienced players/ forum posters dont have a clue as to wha they're talking about.

slang wether its good or bad is not the real thing its what ever you make of it and if you want to make it out as bad kid you can but if someone calls you a BK then just say "wait you mean ""better kid"". and be done with it.

slang is a way to get around the rules of speach and inapropriate words,"noob" aka "newb" should have never been taken off of these forums. the word noob/newb/newby, means new person, this is quite clear and when you say it on a forum you are calling out to everyone else that, that person is a new person. is there anything wrong with calling a new person a bad person(in a game) we were all new to something and usually beginers luck doesnt apply to video games espesially when your playing agianst people that are at the same level but played before they acquired XBL. there is nothing wrong with calling a bad person a BK if they really are a Bad person but if there not then its just.... well idk the word for it..... its not true and you know it, and its just nothing, it goes in one ear and out the other. If you are bad and your called a bk then thats there problem cuse you can just ignore it or complain like your doing right now on this forum or you can argue with the person that called you a bk, on if you are or are not a BK. but i for one dont call people BKs i just look at there skill and if i decide they are bk i put that in my mind if there good then thats in my mind,

but my modow is and always will be i dont talk to BKs i talk about them(in my mind, with others, in a message to all my friends)

Ban it? I don't think so. I don't think "newb" should have ever been banned. Whenever I see anyone who's elitist over a video game, I tend to chuckle to myself and not even bother answering. Those terms are only as offensive as you take them.

If they're enough of a jerk about it, PM the Mods and hope a blacklisting comes to fruition.

I have an exclusive right to call you all Skags and tell you to smeg off.

Now play nice, and we won't have to use the Ninja Rap.

I find it offensive that you would swear (smeg) openly on the forum. Seriously though, just point and laugh when you see people use such terms. I've always hated the "N" word and to me terms such as "BK" and the like are just signs of "little man" syndrome. So again I say point and laugh.
