I would like to be able to send out clan invites from B.net. I think it would be awesome if Bungie added this feature for a few reasons. First reason is that I have some B.net friends who want a clan invite but I don’t have time to go on xbl to do this. I know you can send FR’s from xbox.com, but you can’t send clan invites from there. Second reason, it’s much easier to copy/paste the name and send the request. I’m sure you’ve seen some of the GT’s that are out there…lol

ugh...I'm not asking people to give me their GT's. All I'm asking is if Bungie can put this in their next web update.

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

It could be good and bad, because i can see hundreds of people sending [spamming people] them to people.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

If its possible, i think thats an awsome idea.

Would be such a time saver.

Just as 7 said, it would be great provided we didn't get hundreds of spam invites all the time. Though I'd imagine this would be a little different than groups invites. If you can only be in one clan, people would be less inclined to switch clans, making spam invites less effective, and therefore, reducing their overall numbers. This could work now that I think about it.

Well spam invites to groups are somewhat ineffective already, so spam invites to clans wouldn't cause many problems.

My only question is though many people are willing to send clan invites in order to make the system worthwhile on that end, isn't it important to think how many people would be willing to switch their clans to make it worthwhile on the other end? I would imagine (and I'm probably thinking this because of a combination of drowsiness, jetlag, and stress) that members would get plenty of invitations to join other clans, and would probably send plenty, but wouldn't leave their own clan in order to make it all worth the time spent even sending the invite.

If spam invites for groups are ineffective, they wouldn't happen as often. I know that someone, somewhere, has to be accepting them and joining the chapters.

Your second point is very valid. I also doubt that it would be worth the effort to implement them here. But you never know.

Not bad....

You do have to ask yourself, though, would it be used enough to warrant its existence?

"Ineffective" may have been the wrong word in this situation. I got off of a ten and a half hour flight from Paris four and a half hours ago. I've had a busy week. Perhaps the correct way to phrase that statement would be that spam invites to groups are not so terribly bothersome that they are driving people insane, and spam invites to clans probably wouldn't cause much of a problem either.

And Snap, we can all rest assured that plenty of invites will be sent. The question is whether how many will be accepted should be factored into the figures...and I assume we're pretty much all agreeing that it should be.

Guys, you can block clan invites if you don't want any the same goes for pm's.

Naturally we'd be able to. I simply think that if you are given the ability to not receive invites, a whole lot of people would just turn that system on and never bother.

The problem I see is that everyone who brings up this idea always cites the reason as "I want to send clan invitations." Nobody is interested in accepting clan invitations. So you can see my concern.

No, it's just that someone resurrected it from the depths of Bungie.net. Sill them.

  • 11.27.2006 10:39 AM PDT

I like the idea and I would also go as far to say that Overloads should be able to change roles for the members from B.net too.
