Just a quick point on the whole 'discs' issue. You're all thinking FAR too inside the box. I'd say within a short (well, ok, in terms of 50 years) time practically ALL hard mediums for transferring software is going to be vanishing. Internet connections are getting better, to the point that whole games can be bought and downloaded online securely - look at Steam and Valve, Invtroversion Software and a number of other sites. They still sell hard copies, but Intro. Soft. especially makes most of their sales online. The internet is the way forwards, people.
However, discs with more maps on them immediately would be much nicer especially for those currently with 56k modems *hint hint bungie*
That won't happen for decades. Some people in parts of the U.S./world don't even live in a location where anything but 56k is supported. Also, we were talking about the future of CDs; you can't store terabytes of information with an internet connection, nor can you on your hard drive. CDs are generally used as storage devices when you want to make a back up of something just in case something happens to your computer. It's pretty much open-ended from then on as well.
