I must also say, I don't know what bungie is attempting. We all know Bungie did the ilovebee's campaign. They like taking people for a ride.
How do we know they didn't do this? And if they didn't, they can't really mind that much because it would be out in a few days and they weren't doing any exact timing since it is being mailed to subscribers, and everyone knows how Time ruined Steve Job's announcement of the G4 iMac. This stuff happens, thousands of people touch magazines world wide before they ship, from marketing to printing to distribution. Stuff happens, there is a huge human factor, they've got someone no one else has, and I'm sure bungie anticipated it and really doesn't care that much.
And a reason I point to it? I don't hang out in the bungie forums except for weekly updates. I have learned about two things bungie "DOESN'T WANT ME TO KNOW" in the past week:
1) The BXR "cheat" - interesting, never knew, i've tried it in a few offline multiplayer games
2) The magazine leak - really cool, took a look at the translations, awsome as all hell. But: No major commercial xbox fan sites touched it with a 10 ft pole. Nor would I have seen it without reading into the bungie.net forums closely where it was first mentioned. ... So why mention it? Why not ignore it? Why not delete posts about it and be quiet?
In both cases, Bungie publically has discussed "What you aren't supposed to know". Intriuging. Why not let a dead horse be?
