I have a PC with 2 hard drives, a C Drive (60gb) and a G drive (3gb). For some reason all the program files only go the the G drive, and when i install programs it doesnt let me save them to the C Drive.I really need to install MS Office but i need like 1gb space on my G Drive and it wont let me save it on the C drive. I tried to move the program files and windows folder from the G to the C drive, but some Error comes up. Please help me guys, i really need MS Office on my PC. Thanks

And i need space to play Halo 1. Thanks

Wait, what is the point and the real significance of the 3 gig Hardrive? It's just 3 gig more, you're better off with just one 60 gig (hell at least it's bigger than my 40 gig) HD, and not getting any errors at all. But since you can't transfer programs and files onto the other one...hm, I don't know, sorry I can't help you...

But once you figure out how to get around the error and transfer all your files to the 60 gig HD, try removing the 3 gig hardrive. It's like having 5 cookies, and 1 extra chocolate chip. Yes, it's a bit more than just 5 cookies, but there's no point.

When you install Halo, or any other program for that matter, you can choose the installation path.

example: G:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo can be changed to:

C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo

Also, the game makes registry entries for the files so the computer can find them. If you movie them then the registry doesn't know where they are, hence the errors.

Also, though you're obviously new here, don't make a topic with ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A DUMBASS!!

It could treat Drive G as a partition, perhaps. I really don't know. Get a bigger master drive. Drop the slave.

It's possible you've installed Windows on the wrong Hard Drive. Click the top link in my sig for a helpful tech forum, they'll sort you out.

K, so as I see it might be two things:
1: The computer thinks the 3Gb is the master drive, through some sort of snafu.
or
Windows is installed on the G:drive while all the program files are supposed to go on the C: drive. That would be a good way to maximize HD space.

Either way you really didn't give us a whole lot of info to work with. Also the answer to your problem could possibly be found by going to The Elder Geek

Try going to Control panel>Add/Remove Programs. And look for programs that you don't need, it will free you some HDD space depending on the program, but i sugguest getting a larger HDD. It would solve a lot of problems.

Try having a look at what they are set to. eg Master or Slave. if you don't know how to do that then follow these.

Turn your computer off. Take off side board. Unplug hard drives and pull them out. On the front there should be a switch with THREE slots. Master, Slave and something else (sorry) . Make your 60 Master and 3 Slave.

Try the other ideas first of re-installing programs with another Directory.

***WARNING***
Be sure that you know how to plug them back in the CORRECT way. :)

I think the word your looking for is Tertiary.

ACTUALLY OURS WAS TOO BUT A WINDOWS XP RE-INSTALLATION CD CAME WITH IT SINCE WE PAYED FOR IT!

PWNED!

-EDIT-
Not trying to be harsh but all caps is kind of annoying. You should have a re-installation CD, along with CD's with the drivers, and anything else you need that came with your PC.

You don't necessarily get re-installation CD's with PCs these days.

In fact if he only has ONE hard drive and it has this really small 3Gb partition, it sounds more like it has the backup of the OS on that.

If thats the case, to re-install Windows youd hit the magic key during BIOS and it would ask you if you want to re-install and keep programs/settings or re-install a freah clean new copy.

If you havn't thrown lots of new programs on there, take a look out for any FRAPS folders where you may have accidently been filming GBs of things by mistake (been there done that...) or you can download programs that will divide your drive up by folders and tell you where the most space is being used. There could be dozens of backup files or temp files or anything sitting on the drive taking up space. It could possibly be a virus too?

Although a new HD fitted as a slave would be quite nice!
