Okay. Here I am, running around on Blood Gulch, and after dodging a few plasma bursts, there's a temporary lull in the fighting. I grab a sniper rifle, and crouch down into a spot that commands a view of my end of the valley, just waiting until I can pop off any loser that comes my way.
And then I hear birds.
BIRDS!
You know, tweet, tweety, chirpity-chirp.
I look around, and where are they? Suddenly this end of the gulch is blanketed in napalm-like plasma, and all thoughts of foul fowl are lost in terminating the threat to my honor.
Later, on my PC, I create a fake LAN game on Blood Gulch and go birdie hunting. I pound every visible tree and bush with M19 rockets, and yet still, after a brief pause, the incessant chirping returns.
I am at a loss. I proceed to cover the valley floor with plasma, and still the birdies are out there.
Why did the Forrunners (sp?), which anyone with half a brain-cell knows were ancient humans, stock the islands of Halo with ivisible, invincible birdies?
WHY!?
Please, anyone with a shred of compassion for this poor and hopeless gamer go to Blood Gulch and find these foulish fowl for me.
WHERE ARE THEY?!
