Yes, it is possible. Check this out:

I have been unable to recreate this glitch, which involves holding the switch weapon button as you run over two guns almost on top of eachother. If anyone has any progress, knows how to do this already, or finds a good website explaining this, please post here.

No flaming if this is commonly known.

It is a mod. The person deliberately filmed the section of it and then proceeded to type out, "WHOA! I HAVE THREE GUNS!" You can't get any dumber then that. You cannot wield more then three weapons in a regular Halo multiplayer game. You can achieve the three weapon glitch on the first level of Halo, though.

Thanks Nessy. Also, if anyone does discover how it's done, don't post it. No point in letting noobs in on a little secret here...

Never seen this before, but the halo engine is capable of letting you hold 5 weapons at once.

In one multiplayer split-screen game on xbox I was doing with my friend, I picked up all of a shotgun's ammo right when he went to pick it up.I got the ammo, thus making the shotgun disappear, and he dropped his assault rifle.

It was pretty neat I guess, though not as usefull as holding 3 guns.

holy crap I just noticed masters1337 lol, long time no talk.

This glitch is possible, but I don't think I've heard of this happening in multiplayer before.

Yeah, it happened to me once on ice fields on a very laggy server.

It happened to me once on sidewinder. Not exactly sure how. It was more confusing than it was worth. As I recall, when I ran out of ammo for one weapon, it would not reload.

hm, thats never happened to me before. but i can say that multiplayer lag does do some crazy things, sometimes you don't automatically reload, you can't reload, you're walking then suddenly you're falling, etc.

I once swapped a PP for a sniper rifle, but another teammate somehow picked it up in the split second I was still dropping the PP, and so somehow I ended up with no gun in my hand. It was like the start of POA. I then walked over a gun and picked it up, and everything was fine again.

This sounds like the glitch where you rapidly switch between vehicles and can then control multiple vehicles at once.

Sounds to me like this is just like the glitch were you can drop a weapon and get stuck with only one. Just reversed, Its happened to me multiple times before, it has something to do with you swaping for a weapon at the exact same time as someone else on the server, exept they end up with both your guns, and you end up with whatever you had in reserve.

And heres a shoutout to masters!, you should know who I am by looking at my sig btw.
