I used to know all the little nooks and crannies and secret spots to throw nades from and bam! I'd have shotgun, a rocket launcher, or a sniper rifle in my hands.

Someone put out an advanced tactics video that had a bunch of those tricks in it. In competition getting the sniper on Hangem high, and Damnation gave you an advantage because they were the only one on the map. Also many "pros" have a timer on their desk so they know when a powerup or weapon is going to respawn and can get their first.

Timers work for the Xbox version but items in Halo PC spawns randomly.

weapon respawn times are here

say you're playing rockets on Blood Gulch, picking up a rocket where the sniper rifle is.

the ammo respawns the same time as the sniper rifle does because it was in the same spot

Also, take note, if you grenade a weapon but fail to pick it up, it spawns in like 10 seconds or somet if it isn't touched.

About pr0s having timers, I believe that is jsut a myth, either way, it would only be useful on rr and dere for the OS.

I know atleast 6 places to nade sniper, I personally only like 3 of them.

On bg you can get yourself an frg on big hill, or from jst outside red base.

On sidey in KWs you have to nade the rockets to yourself. You can also nade the oppositions teams powerups to yourself.

You can shoot down powerups on ratrace.

you can nade invis on damnation.

there are millions.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

That takes some serious positioning skill, nice one. Although that method could give you an upper hand, i prefer to play straight and just get the weapons i find, rather than cheat. I'm also massively against aimbots! (who isn't?)

Only one i use widely is shooting down powerups/nading shotgun in rat race. I used to have nading banshees and snipers down, but can't do it anymore.

nading sniper on heh is probably the hardest. Just played a hang em 2v2 with spacklemire and he did it a few times.

It aint cheating as it was clearly put in the game on purpose.

fastmatt, those are the xbox times im pretty sure. i think they're different for pc. and nessy, the xbox pros always used timers from my understanding- i heard zyos brought his laptop w/ him to some competitions and on his laptop he had a program that went of 10 seconds before ______ and would actually say the name of what was about to spawn.

pretty sweet stuff.

Yep, I usually don't live long enough to bother, just pick up the closest guns and run with them. Though I do go out of my way to get a Plasma Rifle or Shotgun.

That's exactly what I have. The program dictates the name of the item about to spawn ten seconds in advance (for example "SNIPER!") and beeps when it spawns. I just have to keep the volume up high so I can hear it during combat. This is what I used to time items in Halo PC but it didn't work. From that I assumed they're random but they're probably just different times.

What? I'm against cheating too, but projecting sniper rifles and rocket launchers to yourself with the placement of grenades is not cheating. I play "straight" as well, but I throw nades to get that sniper rifle sometimes.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

thats a nice one I hadn't seen before...

On Ice Fields, never leave your base without using 2 stickies to get the OS.

Where is there an OS near the base?

When you use the teleporter behind base it'll place you directly across from an OS. You nade it off and drop down to pick it up.

Um, no. The vast majority of players on XBC (Halo Xbox) use timers, including me. And like Nessy said, the times are slightly different for Halo PC.

About pr0s having timers, I believe that is jsut a myth, either way, it would only be useful on rr and dere for the OS.

Every single Halo 1 Xbox pro uses a timer, guaranteed. It's a lot more useful than you think. You can time anything, just think about it.

It brings a new objective into Halo other than just running around killing people or capping flags, map control. It's absolutely necessary to have control over the powerups and rockets, because if you're not in control of them, the other team is, and you're toast.
