I would like to have a frag and a plasma grenade...

If I feel the need for others I will pop in my copy of RS3 or the like.

More anti vechicle mines than remote, then you could carry one at a time and the send warthogs sky high, so you could lay them at strategic points around your base

Oh by the way, this poll is what you would want along with the original frag and plasma grenades(oldies but goldies), not replacements.

Ya Lemming, I was thinking the same thing. Strategic placing of mines for base defense would work wonders against oncoming vehicles. BOOOOOOOOOOM!

i think a granade that explodes on inpack would be cool but i could hav downsode like its splash zone could be smaller and weaker to make it fear

and what would a chemical granade work the cheif and spartians have a suit on and he can go with out breathing( on the halo 2 trailer he opens a air lock and he's still breathing so gases don't do any thing to him

white phosphurous would be cool imagine throwing 1 in a pack of grunts, throwing a plasma on a grunt was funny enough watching him run around screaming but a pack of grunts on fire hell that would be great

Mines of course. If the you place a mine in front of you and the flood come running toward you or jump and land on the mine, Bye bye flood.

Proximity mines and molotov cocktails would be nice... Especially with the new hijacking feature. Hop on a Wraith and press the nade button to drop a molotov in and listen to the "WAAARGH!" as the tank spins out of control..

While, as something of a pyrotechnics lover, I would love to see a dozen different grenades types I'm forced to admit that I would only want the basic two.

We have only the single black button to cycle through our grenades and once you have too many you become forced to take your attention off the action and concentrate on getting the right one.

If I could I'd love to have emplacable anti-personnel mines like Claymores. They're quite real, and quite effective, working like a dozen shotgun in a tight package eager to deliver a withering hail of shrapnel in a wide arc. You may have seen these in many war movies and in the Metal Gear Solid series. Properly placed that could cause serious mayhem.

i voted for rolling though not as a new type. i think you should be able to roll frag grenades as well as throw them. i'd like smoke grenades too, i think they should be attatched to vehicles only though. helps avoid snipers and rockets in open territory

I voted for the remote mines, but I think it would be cool to have some C4 (or whatever they have in 2552), then put a remote mine beside it, wait for a tank or Warthog.

Rejoin in 5...4...

I would have one extra, the remote mine. It would have so many uses:

Provide cover: Stick it to the ground (water, snow, mud or sand) or destructibile scenery. When you blow it up it creates a small cloud of whatever to give you a little cover.

Protection: Stick it to a vehicle, get in it. If anyone hi-jacks it, let them sprint off into the distance, thinking they've pulled one over on you. Then press the button and watch them go skywards! HA HA HA!

Protection 2: Stick them in a line along the main road between you and the enemy base. When they come charging towards you in a vehicle blow the whole lot. You'll either take them out, or create a giant plume of smoke/dust/debry. Allowing you to work without fear of sniper fire (therefore asking for better snipers).

Simply conseal it in an enclosed area. When someone comes close, blow it and watch their body parts fly in different directions.

There's nothing wrong with the gernades that they have now. I can understand if you people want a little more variety, but I prefer to have a simpler line-up of gernades.

A cool grenade would be like a biological grenade (similar to the chemical grenade, just without the smoke). Covenant would start to drop and decay immediately as the grenade's effects slowly kill them. While the Covies are writhing on the ground, the MC can just waltz on by in his protective suit.

i would like the proxy mines. if anyone has ever played a game with these (i.e. golden eye, or the Descent series) you know how much fun it is to lay one of those things and watch the expression on your friend's face as you steal his beloved rocket launcher from the sticky mess that was once his body. then you trip over a mine he layed about 20 seconds earlier, and he steals his RL back, winning the game 50 to 12.

what about having the grenades we have but with secondary options. it saves constant scrolling but adds alittle bit more. eg: rolling frag grenades. sticking plasma grenades to a surface like a mine with a timer. this is adding new types in a different way. i'm sure it could be done with a D-pad direction or something?

I think Halo 2 should have 4 grenade types, and they should all be able to be rolled execpt the coc|<tail:

1. Frag Grenades
2. Plasma Grenades
3. Molotov Coc|<tails (explode on impact and block an area, doing gradual damage)
4. C7 foaming explosive as seen in First Strike w/ remote detonator (spray and go)

4 is not too many for a toggle button.

Functionality of any new grenade types is the hardest part in creating new weaponry. The Xbox controller has an extremely limited number of buttons.

Also, Halo is not known as a tactical squad based shooter so the idea of carrying Flashbangs, lock borers, smoke grenades won't likely make it to the game.

Currently it's thought that D-Pad left and right are reserved for peeking. I'm hoping for the ability to go prone and crawl with the D-Pad down. Perhaps D-Pad up could access an item menu which would then allow you to use D-Pad right and Left to scroll through your items. It would be nice for all those nifty explosive charges, storing a single health pack, stealth module or overshield (but only one... *grins* what to choose?) and the like.

First off, Im confused when you say the Xbox controller has a limited amount of buttons. It has just as much as any other controller on the market. Secondly, I agree with the fact that left and right on the D-pad will probably be for peaking. However, why couldnt up or down be used for switching grenades. A game doesnt have to be a "tactical squad based shooter " to make use of flashbangs and smoke grenades!

pardon my ignorance but don't we already have the small black button to toggle grenades? whats all this d-pad talk? also in my opinion being as we're talking d-pad i think up will be for sprinting

I can't use the Black Button to toggle through a dozen different types of explosives. *grins* The game will be over by the time I find just the right one... well... at least the opportunity to use that explosive to that particular effect.

Can you imagine that... A warthog's coming straight at you... C'mon, where's my plasma. Frag, Claymore, Lotus Mine... where the hell?... C4 charge, Rolling Tracking Grenade.... Ah here we...*SPLAT*

i wouldn't mind seeing some smoke grenades thrown into the mix. but i'd rather bungie improved upon the 2 that were in the original. seemed like in HALO, grenades were set to blow after they were immobile for a set period of time, longer for plasma than for frags. instead of this method, i'd like them to blow up a certain amount of time after pulling the pin/activating it. if they made it so that when you hold the grenade button down, you pull the pin/activate it but hold onto it until releasing the button, i think it would be better. that way instead of having a grenade bounce around at someone's feet, if you gauge the distance/timing correctly, it would blow right on them. and if you don't gauge it right, then it would blow up in the air or bounce past them/stick to the ground. and if you hold it for too long, then you're SOL.
