I just went to the xbox.com halo 2 website and they were talking about Halo 2's alpha testing. I don't know if this has been brought up before, if yes, I apologize. I'm a little worried that article is just conceived facts. They talked about maps that bungie only partly announced. And do you think it makes sense that bungie ships out 1000 alpha versions of Halo 2? I'm not sure if all of that is true. Here's the link:

Any comments on this one? Maybe you know what this is all about.

They want the 'Halo.' But I tell them: 'No! No Halo! For you, only the 'Frenzy'! The 'Frenzy' and maybe some 'Munch'

The 1000 alpha versions were given to Microsoft employees only, so there are no versions available to the public. This information is also in the Gameinformer aticle. As for the maps, three are talked about; Waterworks, Lockout, and Burialmounds.

Yeah, you are right. But don't you think it is kind of risky to give away 1000 copies of Halo 2 Alpha Versions? There might be a lot of information slipping through.
As for Burial Mounds, I've heard the name before. Frankie mentioned it once. It's also on the first MP screenshot.

i dont think that there might have been information slipped through because Microsoft is a big transnational corportation that would sue the pants off any of there employees if information was to slip. They wouldnt want information of there biggest game ever to slip.

The copies were XBL-only and registered to certain XBL accounts, I think.

All of the employees who got to play the alpha test(lucky sons of...) had to turn them back in. Just read the Game Informer article.

the alpha also didn't include dual wielding, vehicle boarding, and the interactive invironments were very basic, so no new info was leaked. The test was only to see how Halo 2 performed online, not how good the gameplay is. Max Hoberman said that they collected so much data, that it took weeks to sort through.
