Hey developers for Halo 2 Vista... I have a small suggestion for the next update... I was wondering if you could provide some numbers in FPS on a range of video cards, so we'll know how the game will run...
I was thinking just using fraps, in game time demo, and play around 15 minutes through the single player, or, if H2V has its own stress test, use that... Perhaps testing it on 3-5 video cards... something from ATi's 9 series, (ex 9600pro), ATi X or Nvidia's 6 series, and then some high end cards, like an ATI X1950XTX, Nvidia 7900GTX/8800GTX... And on a resulution that most of us will be using - 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200... I would really appreciate some benchmarking to be done, and I'm sure others would, to know if we should upgrade or not.

Thanks alot,
-Snowy

Well, IIRC Bungie used ATI 1900XT's on their beta's at Germany's GC and those games were running at 1920x1080 while it looked to be running around 60FPS, so if that's any consolation...

I don't think bungies gonna help you with your wim. But like Bob said, they used 1900xt's at huge resolutions. But you also have to consider the CPU, RAM, the type of OS software (how much power is it using up) and tons of other stuff. But I think those machines had like 1.5 gigs of RAM and one of those Intel Core Duo's, Probably running near 3 ghz with 2 megs of cache.

The few, the proud, the leet.

Simply put, if you run Aero, you will run H2V at a typical and playable resolution/fps. And they were running H2V at 1920x1200, not 1080p.

If you want the math, here it is

1080p = 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixles
1200p = 1900 x 1200 = 2,280,000 pixles

Now as you can see, the 1900 x 1200 is better than 1080p. But personaly, I find frame rate, contrast, and detail more than an ULTRA high resolution.

no, 1200p = 2134x1200

1080p is a 16:9 aspect ratio
1920x1200 is the same width, but at a 16:10 aspect ratio giving it a larget height, so computer platforms can operate more smoothly. This allows you to natively watch a 1080p movie and still having access to your task bar.

Ya I know, I was talking about the amount of number of pixles on the screen.
When you said "it's not 1080p" I thought you ment it was inferior. Personaly, I like 16:10 over 16:9. I'd rather have a little more dept.

Once Bungie releases some specs then I suggest to regularly check System Requirements Lab until they update it for Halo 2 Vista support.
