About skipping school at Halo 3 launch day

I'm going to school because I plan on having a life...
Yeah, only nerds skip school. Oh wait...

I'm going to buy Halo PC today, and I wonder if there is a way to use the Xbox controllers with the PC? Some kind of adapter or similar?

The problem is that I don't own a 360, just a normal Xbox. I just like the feel of playing Halo with a controller instead of keyboard/mouse, but as you say it's probably harder. I have now found an adapter in a store that works with the Xbox controllers.

One available left for purchase.

SmartJoy just went out of business...Sony sued them because they had adapters for PS2 Controllers to PC or something. Sony sucks. Anyway, that's the last one...they don't sell them anymore, they went shut down recently.

Wow. Auto aim (also known as reticule magnetism or aim assist) aids players in first-person shooters with aiming, most of the time it is used for console games, as it is difficult to aim with the controller than it is to aim with a mouse on the PC.

There is no auto aim for Halo PC. It's significantly more difficult to aim in Halo PC than on the Xbox version. You are sadly mistaken there, dude. A mouse and keyboard is superior than the conroller in so many ways it isn't even funny, unless you think the gamepad is better, which then, is hilarious. It may be opinion, but it might as well be fact. The mouse and keyboard gives gamers more precision, faster response time, and an elegance and grace that no controller could ever offer to people, not even with auto aim.

Halo has hardly no auto aim, and the transition to PC was not difficult at all for me. Using a keyboard is pretty annoying to me though, but I love the mouse.

Halo 2 has like 6x as much auto aim...8x as much reticule magnetism...3x as harge hitboxes....that transition will be huge for people who play Halo 2 more than Halo, and plan on playing H2V.

Qft, dude. I'm still worried about H2 Vista, because, despite the fact that there will be no auto-aim, you're still facing the hit-boxes, and the fact that dodging projectiles by moving in a horizontal direction is not as effective as in the first game, so it will still be much easier to kill people than in the first game.

I am worried about H2V as well. Especially the part where if you shoot them in the shoulder, it counts as a headshot :P

I like to read the first few posts of this thread and laugh at the ignorance of some of these console fanboys.

Fixed. That's what you should really worry about, considering how laggy the game can get when the host has a bad connection.

I was assuming the host had a good connection :P

Halo 2 was totally noobified and sadly, I find myself agreeing with almost everything on halo2sucks.com :(

But I still enjoy playing it... wierd O.o
I think I must just play it when I'm feeling lazy and want the game to aim for me.

Halo 2 is the reason I've had a serious drop in skill in HPC in all aspects. I can no longer get clean 3SKs and headshots consistently.

I never could, and I've never played H2. I suck.

This IS the new Bungie we are talking about. If anybody was going to put auto aim into a PC game, it would be them. I mean Halo is already the laughingstock of PC gaming.

Quote in sig says it all.
Aside from the fact that there's no auto aim like you guys are discussing, there's only two speeds for travel in HPC: walk and run. It's going to be difficult for a console fanboy to come in and get used to the different sensitivity.
Plus I talked to a couple of the guys at EB Games and they said that they're getting a lot of returns on the Xbox 360 controllers for Windows becuase the drivers Microsoft.com offer aren't working correctly.

Edit reason:spelling
