My multiplayer tip isnt very useful for others but useful for me. Always carry around a shotgun and a sniper rifle while playing in BG. This has probly been said before but thats my biggest tip.

good idea on the actual collection of tips thread, its sad that this thread will probably die nov. 9th though

my tip is to always move, its very basic yet very helpful. while camping can work sometimes you're harder to snipe if your moving, if your against multiple snipers NEVER go in a straight line, start going one direction and inexplicably go a different way and slowly work your way towards your intended destination, this has saved my skin on more than one occasion.

I always have a shoutgun and sniper rifle on blood gultch, always. My big tip to newbies mostly is move around. if you stay in one spot your gonna get killed very very quickly. get used to moving and strafing when your playing. it'll help.
EDIT: oops. i didnt realize the guy before me already said to move.

Why shotgun? I never use it. I stick with Human Pistol and Sniper Rifle.

learn the maps
formulate a stratagy for said maps...i.e, a route to weapons/power ups that you want..
like said before keep moving
learn which weapons counter others (ex. plasma rifle will own the shotgun)
if playing a team game, comunicate with your team
thats about all i got right now, hope it helps

Actually, that's a bad idea. Then your stuck with a Long range weapon and a short range weapon, and most of your battles will be at medium range. and the sniper at 2 X zoom is NOT a preferable medium range weapon.

My advice is to move, stop, crouch, scan. You have to stop once in a while to get the drop on people and not visa versa.

When you stop - you're off the motion tracker
When you crouch- you make yourself smaller and harder to see and shoot.
When you scan- you can find people around you and get your bearings
Then move.

the better you get at sniping the more you use the sniper at any range, and the more you use the 2x instead of 10x. the 2x is smoother and because the reticle is larger you have a better opportunity for headshots. Also, teh faster somethings moving the more you have to lead your shot, so if somebody is falling off the cliff at Sidewinder and you fire at where his feet are you will most likely get a head/chest shot

When caught in a big gun fight start jumping, in blood gulch always carry an assault rifle,
and never use vehicles JUST to run over someone. (its really cheap and your vehicle will most likley get stuck).

Always get a sniper rifle if you can, the more you play the more you see that it can be used in any situation. if you can close-range snipe dont be caught without one.

Dont listen to people who call you camo/shotgun/rocket whores. They are just jealous cause you came in first place and they didnt.

Dont betray your teamates, no matter how -blam!- they are being or if they took your weapon

Learn to hit 3 shot kills with the pistol. it will save your ass.

Never play with radar, cause when you play a non-radar game you will be screwed

Get good with every weapon

Dont screen look on a split screen game, it pisses people off and makes you a worse player.

Always go into a battle with full health if you can. Hunt health packs religously, you will decrease your deaths-per-game by at least 50%

And finally just play alot. Theres some things you just cant get through tips. People ask me how i win every time, and its just expirience. When you play enough you learn to anticipate where people will walk, what way they will turn, and where they will hide. You learn where people hide the flag in CTF. Your learn just how much to lead people by with shots/grenades. The more you play, the more expirience you get. One final word of advice:

NEVER DROP THE PISTOL. unless you are verrrrry good with the sniper rifle, you will get ass raped very fast. Very often you need the pistol right after you drop it. If ive said anything anyone here doesnt agree with, let me know.

Speak softly and carry a big gun

haha jk. use pistols with the zoom and aim just a bit over the head, and come at angles with the warthog if you want to run em over. if someone is in the seat, be mindful of them cause their gun does alot of damage so drive smooth and give them clear targets.

and in CTF an early flag capture is Key to victory

Agreed. Also, in TS, owning the high ground(blue base at hangem) or a room with few entrances (camo room in chillout) is a key to victory

personally i like to have the AR with a Rocket Launcher on the hip. spray a few rounds at someone, to get their attention, and then suprise them with a rocket in the face.

don't really know if this a tip but it works for me!!
