What sucked about the needlers more than their small clip and weak damage was that it totally slowed down the frame rate in the original. I'm guessing because the needler had to chase after your enemies which probably took abit of power from the xbox. (This was especially the case if your firing upon a guy up close or if there are hundreds of needles homing your way!)

I think it would be interesting to see the needles firing straight forward instead (seeing as their faster and more rapid to make up for it) kind of like the covenant equivelant of the SMG. Also, when your down on health and trying to dodge every last bolt fired at you, its really annoying trying to shake a needle that has the capacity to drop you with a single pop.

Whats your opinion on this?

I think if they didn't you would have to be very close to the target as they spread out too far.

exactly, making it a close range weapon, I think it would be better like that but I cant see what it would need to balance... Perhaps they solved the framerate problem for halo2 its seems doubtful that they would reintroduce laggy needlers again

of course they should home in thats what makes them unique and also they would have had to solve the lag problem because with the rocket target tracking and all. in the video it seemed to run real smoothly

I think having them home in makes it easier to get Elites on LEGENDARY but it's bad on other difficulties. (:-)

I always wondered... why don't the needles track eachother?

I'm guessing because they lock onto lifeforms only (ie carbon or whatever the covenant are based on too) But if it locked onto carbon that wouldnt explain why a plasma grenade (which also sticks onto lifeforms only) can stick onto a vehicles. very confusing.

[ hmmm.....but its a game...it doesnt have to make perfect sense. its probably because the covies have the technology we dont any way! ]
