Yes, Custom Soundtracks would make Halo 2 even more enjoyable. But the Custom Soundtrack option should ONLY be available in Multiplayer.

I agree. We should be able to listen to whatever we want in multiplayer, but not in single. The music adds way too much to the storyline in singleplayer mode.

I wouldn't want a custom soundtrack, it wouldn't blend into the game. Just turn on your sterio if you want other music, it destorys the feel of the game.

It would be a pain in single player. Can you Imagine having cortana barking orders at you while you laid down cover fire for a marine filled jeep, and just as your fully immersed Outkast starts blaring through your speakers because you enabled a seperate playlist. I would hate to be a music designer for bungie and hear from message board posters that my music wasnt perfered in game play over Drowning Pool or Pantera.

If you think it's going to ruin the game then don't use it. It's that simple. But why not give us the option to do it? How hard is it to get this feature into the game??

your right in a way. if you dont want to listen to custom sound just turn it off.
dont take out of game. and stereio dont go everywhere your xbox can

then wouldn't the option to turn on custom soundtracks make sense? No one is forcing you to use a feature. I've never really understood this attitude. If it's an option and you don't want to use it, the solution is simple. Don't.

I think it would be great for mulitplayer, especially if there is some sort of co-op survival mode against bots or something. In the end, I probably wouldn't use it much, but it would be nice to have the option if it doesn't take too much effort.

I agree with Digital Chaos about only allowing it on multiplayer. If they don't make Halo 2 compatible, they should put some kind of music in a small radius around or in the bases of the levels (or the center of a level with no bases).

I didn't mean to imply that the custom soundtracks would be a forced option. I was thinking from a standpoint where you turn on custom soundtracks for the game which carry over between multiplayer and single player. By doing this some might forget to turn off the soundtrack after booting up a single player level.

In multiplayer it would be great to implement soundtracks in new ways. i.e. While traveling in vehicles. It would be great to hop in a jeep and hear your favorite song start playing on its radio.

i heard a roumar of putting a radio in a halo 2 worthog. in a interview

I think when you jump into a vehicle in multiplayer you should have the option of turning some music on.

Bungie should release some downloadable music now and then so that players can keep the authentic Halo feel and also gives us something new to hear.

Music in general in Halo 2 multiplayer would rock. I know in Unreal Tournament the maps with the awsome music accopaning them allways encouraged me to play better. Not to mention as the beat of the music increased the pace of the game increased. So music can really seem to improve the maps and gameplay.

Maybe you could improvise the ideas so you can use the custom soundtrack option but only hear it in human vehicles, makes it a little more authentic, like when Sgt.Johnson listens to music in the pelican.

I think they should make it an option to use Halo music in the multiplayer matches, without having to rip your soundtrack CD to the harddrive.

And yes, I think there should be an option to have custom soundtracks in MP and campaign mode. Music adds to the ambiance and can create emotion but blasting Rage Against the Machine or Iron Maiden or even Kylie Minogue won't ruin the story one bit. In fact I think Kylie Minogue would actually make killing Covenant aliens that much more fun.

don't use it if you don't want it. all games on xbox should support it, that was one of the main selling points of the machine...

I think Bungie should be worrying about Halo 2 gameplay not corny techno music for multiplayer.

halo's music is a very important part of what made it such an amazing game. i do not think that any music other than what Bungie uses would be a bad idea. and besides i dont think it would be possible because i have a feeling that like in halo 1 certain points in levels will trigger music to play. and in halo2 i can see hostile attacks triggering "action" music like in splinter cell. for this reason custom music would be impossible.
