Let there be CHAOS!

Well, the new Halo 2 Vista FAQ is out.

* No online co-op or split-screen
* No free online play
* No single player modding (though we will find a way anyways)

So yeah, I find this all extremely dissappointing.

1-That would hardly even be possible, I don't think any other PC games can do this either...

2-Bungie is very stupid if they charge us for online play. We are hosting the servers, and paying for dedi's. Bungie isn't.

3-We weren't supposed to make single player with HCE either. I'm sure we can make a campaign map, then load it with the console.

No SP modding? They're gonna charge us for online play?

Wow. Just wow.

Smells like another MS scheme. *sigh*

They didn't even say that they were. I was pointing out that they wouldn't dare to...

How will multiplayer work in Halo 2 for Windows Vista?

Halo 2 for Windows Vista will support several options for multiplayer play, including system link for local networks, Live for global online play, and the ability to run dedicated H2V servers for gamers who need the highest in performance.

I don't see anything about paying...

My bad. They were talking about Windows Live accounts. For some reason I thought they were talking about Live as in Xbox Live for some reason.

Dude, I can understand people not reading a whole thread when it's like 20 pages long, but this one is only about 6 posts long! If you read it you would see that:

1. I'm not just talking about split-screen, but online co-op. As in over teh internetz?
2. I already explained that I wasn't thinking. They were talking about Windows Live, not Xbox Live. My freakin bad, ok? lol
As for 3, Halo 2 is fairly unentertaining unless it's modded in my opinion.

It still smells like they will charge. Not ready to comment my ass.

Yeah, that worries me too.

Oh and another thing, about the 360 controllers. Are they actually thinking of adding auto-aim to controller users? Not even going to get into why that is so lame.

From reading that here are the things that they shot down or gave the impression they were shooting down.

* Matchmaking and centralized stats
* Global Anti-cheat solution
* New weapons or vehicles
* Co-op and split-screen
* No auto-aim

The last one is scary. The other thing I didn't get a warm, fuzzy from was custom content distribution. If they don't have some sort of universal way to get the custom content into the game it will be just like HaloCE-- over 1000 maps created and 100 players playing.

Agreed %100. I have been psyched about H2V for a while now, but today has been a major dissappointment.

And of course in the next FAQ, Bungie will tell us: "Oh, we decided to take away the map creator and we locked the maps with a special hex code using the hashing system Windows uses to encode your passwords, so you can't even mod them. kthxbai! ^_^"

Gonna do it anyway, though.

This saddens me extremely. This update shows nothing promising more over what Halo 1 PC had to offer except some spruced-up graphics. They were reluctant to talk about the issue of auto aim, but it's an obvious translation that it will be apparent but not as abundant as H2X. Damn is this dissapointing. Damn indeed.

Woot, now I get to update the FAQ.

No auto-aim
That was one of gamers biggest complaisnts about Halo 2 XBOX. With H2 Vista, they had a chance to change all that, but it looks like they just aren't gonna take it.

Auto aim was also a big part of PC Gamers skepticism toward H2 Vista.

Today has been a big let down.

New weapons or vehicles
A lot of PC Gamers consider H2 XBOX to be an inferior game. New weapons and vehicles would help to conpensate for this.

Matchmaking and centralized stats
Was definitely looking forward to stats.

God damn it! I was really looking forward to a rocket warthog, or maybe a fuel rod gun.

Uuum, what?

I said that HEK wasn't intended to make campaign maps, but we did anyway and loaded them through the console. I said nothing about UI...

Well, okay. You got me there..

I hope they actually don't decrease the size of the arsenal.

Oh, I don't know about a fuel rod gun. I bit overpowered IMO. Maybe, a new type of automatic weapon or energy weapon.

One idea that I had was something whos projectiles interact with the invironement in intersting ways, so as to open up interesting strategic possiblities. Maybe something that boucnes off walls, or fires multiple projectiles.

Y'all know what ahm sayin?
