Aim higher than basic then. Advocating something you know is inferior is stupid.

Don't diss xbox live. Just because you PC Gamers have your opinion, we console gamers have ours. And also, I'm not saying I hate PC Games, heck, I love em(Got alot of em for my good ol' gaming laptop), but I prefer consoles more.

I'm not dissing xbox live. I'm saying we shouldn't have to pay to play on the PC, and it shouldn't be forced on us.

Er, what's the "T"?

On topic: I hope that we wouldn't have to use Live... I would rather have a choice (who wouldn't?).

What he meant that fees are a really dumb idea for PC shooters. Fees are good ideas for MMORPGs.

Are there even fees for ANY PC shooter?

Well just like X-box, you don't have to use live to play online. But if you don't use live your missing out on so much. Like people have stated before, where buying a 200 dollar OS and a 50 dollar game, and god knows what other stuff microsoft will make us get. We GIVE microsoft enough, the only reason I purchas microsoft stuff is so Bill can do his charity thing.

My two cents :
XBOX live kicks ass. Lots of ass.

Problem is that I don't think that Windows Live will be free. That's not the way I want it too be, but under the circumstances, I think it's just the way that it's gonna be.

One thing is for sure about Live Anywhere.

Whether I get it or not, whether I pay money for it or not, I'm still going to be using Xfire! :) I've no doubt that Live Anywhere can be just as efficient in telling us what games our friends are playing, downloading videos and content and updates, etc. but I'm still holding onto Xfire just in case.

I just feel like Msoft ownes it to us to have Vista be free of charge. I mean, the've been neglecting PC gamers for awhile. They just took notice of us with Live anywhre, Vista, DX10, etc.

there are no fees for online shooters (unless you count the Jerks as EA requiring a license to host ranked servers). Now Halo is the best Franchise ever created- i love these games with my heart and soul. I have a freakin amazing PC that cost me 2 g's in part because i thought H2V would be cool. Plus I already subscribe to Live! because of H2 and eventually Halo 3. however i urge all of you to not give in to this pressure if you do not have an XBL account, despite live being a decent service. Nobody else charges for shooters, and i can already tell H2V is not going to live up to expectations.

and stealthlogic, H2V inst even going to be DX 10, which means that it will be not nearly as smooth running as the other games that do use it

Ahem, anybody? You have to pay on the xbox because you need to pay for xbox live, but, for pc, is diffrent, you pay for the internet, so, your not paying to play online, your only paying your internet company.

You pay the internet company with xbox live as well. Xbox live is a service to help games play online in a semi universal way with one payment instead of a payment per game.

No one is making me PAY to play the game I already bought. It baffles me just how many people pay to play games, you bought it, so you should be able to play it. You are the customer, the company caters to you, you don't cater to them.

Xbox Halo 2 players are not paying a fee to play halo 2 on line.....they are actually paying the fee for the xbox live service which will allow them to play all xbox live enabled games online.

Then why not just let us choose not to use Live? Besides, I don't pay for Steam, why should I pay for Live? Even before Steam had other devolopers publishing stuff through it, it was free.

Heyyo,

Steam was a beaute of an idea... I prefer buying stuff off steam than retail mainly cause I don't have to worry with mini images or no cd cracks in order to play my fav games. I load up steam, and play.

As for H2V? calm down guys... cause keep this in mind... IF m$ charges us for XBLA for H2V, I'm sure XBoxConnect will be right there, providing a free solution for us... or so I'm gonna hope. =P
