I set up a camera looking at my tv once but the quality was horrible.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

If you have a nice sized HDD on your computer, Dazzle 90 is good. It's $30 USD on Amazon.com last I checked. To edit, get some video editing software from a school, or just use Windows Media maker...

Dazzle 90 is an external capture card, you plug it's USB into your computer and then the RCA's go into your TV...

Look online for an archos av300, av400, or av500 (Sometimes they are listed as 320, 420, etc with the latter two of the three numbers indicating storage in Gigabytes). Ebay seems to be the easiest place to find them, I bought my av420 for $100 and it records in great quality, especially for the price.
