Okay, I just want to explore the possibilities on what could happen if Bungie/Microsoft does decide to make you pay for Live Anywhere. Now, when XBL was made, there were alternatives to online play. Basically, you'd play on a huge, emulated LAN, such as XBConnect

Firstly, I am interested in whether or not it will happen with Live Anywhere. If you can hack a console, then you can most certainly hack a PC. So I want to guess that a Halo 2 LAN emulator will happen.

More interestingly, what is the effect of this if this does happen? It will split the community up, between those who pay for it and who doesn't, meaning most of the hacker or advanced computer users will be on the emulated LAN, roughly.

Just looking to stir up some thought. I don't neccesarily support a Lan emulator, but I don't want to pay to play online. $50 bucks is quite enough.

We're already paying at least $100 bucks for vista and then $50 bucks for the game. If they charge us H2V will have lost a lot of sales because of an important thing about PC gamers

I'm not getting it if i have to pay.

Also if you say yes, what the heck is wrong with you?
This is a first person shooter and on what games do you need to pay, to play on line.

I'll be pretty pissed if we do have to pay. I'll be extremely pissed if those who want to play Games for Windows have to pay for Live Anywhere when they're already paying for Xbox Live.

I suspect that you will not have to pay to play online, but that you will have to pay for Live Anywhere. If you do not get Live Anywhere you will just have a basic server lobby. Live anywhere will get you access friends/favorite server list, chat, screenshots and possibly video capturing(if they are smart). But PC players already have most of that through X-fire, which is free.

The more I think about it the more I think Halo2Vista is a launch title/promotion for Live Anywhere. Live Anywhere keeps getting a lot of press time they keep hyping it. If all it is, is a friends/favorite server list PC players are not going to be impressed. If they force you to have Live Anywhere and there is a fee, it is not going to go over well, but I think they are smarter then that.

If I have to pay to play, I will simply cancell my xbox live gold acount, and use the money for h2vista.

If I have to pay even when I already pay for Xbox Live, I will be very upset. Masterz, I hope to see you on Lockout next year.

I'll be pissed if they make us pay, and really pissed if I can't just use my current XBL tag instead of buying a new one.

Don't follow in my footsteps; I walk into walls
my 360s blog

Those that already have Live on 360 must use that tag on H2V
