Customizable symbols for Halo 2 nope its not going to happen individuals are going to have to pick from a number of symbols that are already loaded in the game. Bungie is going to take the same approach to this as they took to the avatar in the forums. They are not going to allow player to design there own symbols are upload them on to an xbox. Players are going to have to pick

SketchFactor says in the Forum FAQ and Rules “We are not allowing custom avatars because inevitably it creates too many problems. Like it or not, plenty of people will upload things that are obscene, offensive and in violation of our code of conduct. We would then have to constantly police all of these files and spend all of our time making sure nobody was doing anything wrong. There's also the risk that certain files could break the site or cause unexpected behavior.”

So people don’t think you are going to be able to upload your personalized symbol for the game.

There's a chance that you could, probably just not a big one.

I'm not, and probably most people aren't. Custom symbols are just one of those things that aren't needed.

That's a very valid and interesting point, if you ask me. I guess I should have putted (Is that a word?) it this way: It's one of those things that make it fun but not needed.

I think that something along the lines of creating your own icon may or may not be there. I can understand why people don't think so, since you could still create offensive content, but the tru7h is, your player name could also be something equally offensive. I personally would like to be able to customize (that is, paint my own symbol) for my armor, as long as the symbol spaces aren't too large. I don't want Pepsi giving away five bucks a month to some guy who has "dRinK MoR PepS1" all over his back.

SB-117

I hope you can like combine different icons and then colour them in for variation, (e.g. put a star icon ontop of a diamond icon and then choose the colours for the star and/or diamond.) Combining icons would make it so people dont have offensive meanings to their icons and it would be better than choosing COMPLETELY preset icons because:

a) choosing preset symbols is not very creative and
b) everyone will pick the best one(s) meaning everyones symbol are the same (except for a few people).

I think you will be able to choose until Longhorn, its going to be a hub that xbox2 plugs into, so im sure you will be able to do this along with many other thngs like recording gameplay.
