Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

No it's not. The whole Xbox live MM system is a flawed masterpiece. It was a good idea, but the little things that we all hate like host advantage (which leads to all sorts of crap) ect. are what ruined it, the fact that you have to have a huge friends list to get some good customs going, ect.

I don't own a $400 console so I don't know, but I'd assume it would have it all from the start.

They shouldn't charge us for it. We already will have to shell out for a whole new OS. They didn't charge us for HPC's new content did they?

so start whining this is actually horrible news

Fixed.

I am seriously considering not buying H2V now.

[sarcasm]HAHA, YOU'RE THE COOLEST KID EVAR. YOU CAME TO THE HALO PC FORUM TO TELL US THAT PAYING FOR MULTIPLAYER IS THE BEST.[/sarcasm]

seriously, if they charge for the "live" system, i'm not getting H2V. Also, we have all of those programs separately, why fix what isn't broken? i'm perfectly fine with going to youtube, xfire, and fileplanet as different places. in fact, it makes it EASIER for me.

Some people don't have aproblem with paying for things "Nothing in life is free" I payed for my Xbox live account. I don't mind paying for this. It's just people like you that are going to miss out on the fun because of your stubbeness "ZOMFG WE HAVE TO PAY, I'M NOT BUYING VISTA OR H2V LOLOLOL!!!1!!1!1!Shift+one!1"

While we will be laughing, shooting people with our BR's :p

Live is a great system. Asuming it's like the Xbox 360 Xbox live. I agree the that matchmaking was horrible. But that was not Live. That was halo 2 match making.

If if you don't want to use it, then don't. No one's stopping you.

because of course, we need a live system for ONE GAME. not too many xbox games are shifting to the PC.

^ Although I hate Xbox Live, man, that was well written. We all have to say "good job" to our enemies once in a while, ey?

Only if Mat Parker writes and counter-complains as good as this...

*ahem*

There is no new content, you idiot.

Also, if I want a flawed console system for the superior pc, I'd just go out and buy a damn console and get charged for a subscription to Live.

Oh, and lest we forget, we will still have to pay for our own dedicated servers; if Bungie charges us on top of that, so help them God, they won't see a damn sale out of this game.

QFGDMFT!

Dude, don't get me wrong, Xbox Live in itself is a great online service. It shows you what your friends are playing, what they're doing, you can send people invites to your games, download additional content online - basically what PCs are good for and what console gamers should be jealous of. But instead, it's the other way around. Xfire and Gamespy have bridged some of these gaps but in the end it's Live Anywhere that will change the way we play with our friends.

And guys, please, please don't confuse Xbox Live with matchmaking. They're totally different.

Also, PCs > consoles.

Yes. But that isn't the point. Mat said that we were criticizing Live, and that it was unjust. We're not criticizing it, really, we're just saying that we could do without having to pay for it. PC gamers shouldn't have to pay to play online (with the exception of MMORPGs).

Tis heracy how dare you come to the halo pc forums and tell us that we can pay for stuff! also, why should we pay for multiplayer when thats the only way we can get, online i mean seriously split screen would suck on a pc!

I do not think we should pay to play other people on a PC. We cannot do co-op, or split screen. We are paying $100 to get a new OS to play the game and then $50 more for the game and don't forget about the $1000 dollar computer you need to play it with decent settings on. I don't want to add to that the price of live to play halo with my friends.
If they charge us they will ALOT of people who don't buy the game just for that. People are fine with live just not with having to pay for it on a PC when they never have had to pay for a shooter game before.

If I have to pay for multiplayer, I'm not going to buy it. I probably wont even get Vista for several years.

Who reads these anyways?

Ive only read through some of it and i have to say...WTF!

Why would we have to pay for "live" when we pay for the Internet connection, vista, h2v, and possibly a new pc?

Thats all I'm going to say cause i know bungie isn't stupid enough to make us pay HUNDREDS of dollars to get it set up then charge us for something they aren't for the former version..

If they do charge can I just remind you it's only $39.99 a year which works out at 4 cents a day its very cheap and it won't be just for H2V.

OR we can keep it status quo where it's free for us.

we have dedicated servers where the playing field is level and I dont need to worry about some kid with a 128kbs line magically getting host.

we have choices as to what messaaging system we want to use.

did I mention server side gameplay?

And by the way, I already have live and have had it for a while. I see no advantage to it.

You fail.

You're still not getting it, it seems. We already have a program that works like Live; it's called Xfire, and it's free.

Oh, and what other games will it be for? You don't honestly believe that every major pc gaming company will use Live Windows as their hosting for online games and systematically screw over pc users? The whole thing about having a pc is that you are already paying for the internet; why the hell would I pay for it twice?

Couldn't have said it much better myself Agamemnon.

I will be laughing as H2V becomes the least popular game out there, except of course for the kids who's parents will buy all this for them. Maybe we'll end up making a HPC clan: H2V sucks :P
Wouldn't be surprised. They're probably gonna blow it just like they did H2 Xbox.
