So, lets review

No single player customization

Crappy HEK editing kit. Again.

Autoaim. On a PC shooter

Some sort of Live for Multiplayer. On a PC game.

Other than slightly shinier graphics and Keyboard/Mouse, what reason do I have to buy Halo 2 all over again? I might as well save the 60 bucks, save the hassle of Vista, and keep playing on the Xbox.

1. People will develop better editing kits for H2V. It happened in halo pc, and it will happen for halo 2.

2. The screen resolution will be beautiful, and the graphics will pwn anything the xbox had. Period.

3. Keyboard + mouse > controller. (this ones an opinion)

Because, deep down, we all want to mess around with an automatic sniper rifle without modding our Xbox.

QFGDMFT!

If you don't like H2 Vista, what you should do is buy all the other great games that are soon coming for Games for Windows. Like Crysis, or Alan Wake.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

There is no autoaim for Halo 2 Vista.

You will not need to pay to play Halo 2 Vista online, there may be an option though for Live Anywhere.

Any sort of custom content for the main game will be great.

The graphics won't be a little bit shinier, they'll be a WHOLE lot nicer altogether, look at the damn screenshots again, and the LATEST ones too.

Vista is the next big thing for PC Gaming, it will bring a lot of goodness for our platform. If you wanna stick as a console gamer, that's fine, but don't come crying to us when ur console looks pathetic as the might of PCGaming announces itself once more!

anyone who's played more than you has no life

anyone who's played less than you is a noob

seriously, why couldnt they use Direct X 9?* it'd save everyone an awful lot of hassle, not having to "upgrade" to vista.

my guess is microsoft said "sure we'll fund halo2 for the pc, so long as you make it Vista only. we've got a new operating system coming out and we need to get it into as many homes as possible."

i'll probably partition my harddrive and stick vista and halo2 pc in one little section so i dont mess up the rest of my pc. i only want this game so i can remake Chill Out, and there can be some justice in the online gaming world.

*direct x 10 only works for vista, due to the way it interacts with the hardware / operating system.

H2V is using DX9, it is not going to use DX10 at all. So then why is it Vista-only you ask? The more I think about it the more it becomes clear that H2V is a testbed for the Live Anywhere service. The Live Anywhere service is going to be for Vista only and they are pushing it hard. I wish they would let us know exactly what features that it will have so we can know whether to bother with it or not.

Please, enlighten us, give us definite proof that there will be no auto-aim in Halo 2 Vista.

Also, I will have fun with my two-year old game. Hell, most of us here are having fun with a three-year old game - Halo PC!

If you are asking why you should buy the game because you don't see any point in buying it, don't buy it.

I won't be if it will cost money to play online. Everything else can be modded the hell out of.

There is no autoaim for Halo 2 Vista.
Still unconfirmed, but considering the last time they didn't give us straight-forward answers and just said, "well, there are many factors to consider," they ended up screwing us over, like with new vehicles and weapons. I also have a feeling we won't get any new maps as well. I wonder what their excuse will be with that one though.

"Oh, uh, we're giving you tools to make them! Yeah. So, uh, get to it."

You will not need to pay to play Halo 2 Vista online, there may be an option though for Live Anywhere.
Once again, also unconfirmed. If it was decided that if you were just going to play on dedicated servers and not have to use Live Windows then they would've stated at so, but they, once again, gave foggy details, and given when they do that in the past, it spells them stalling for the moment to announce how much more they are screwing us over.

The graphics won't be a little bit shinier, they'll be a WHOLE lot nicer altogether, look at the damn screenshots again, and the LATEST ones too.
Graphics doesn't make the game; gameplay does. If this is just simple recycled gameplay with a toned-down HEK and being forced to pay to play online, then you can forget about H2V, because I sure as hell will.

Vista is the next big thing for PC Gaming, it will bring a lot of goodness for our platform. If you wanna stick as a console gamer, that's fine, but don't come crying to us when ur console looks pathetic as the might of PCGaming announces itself once more!
Andrew Ribbons, as you knew I agree with you full-heartedly 100% when it comes to PC gaming, I will disagree with you if Live Windows requires a fee to pay for an account. Sorry, but Xfire is completely free and does everything what Live Windows is promising to do.

You do understand that you can still use your DX9 card for Vista, correct?

you are wrong.

1. they have no plans of making HUD lag (what you guys call "autoaim") as of now.

2. Live? we arent talking about freakin' Xbox's cheap-o service

why, cause you get all the custom things you could do for Halo CE, better graphics, possibly new maps, and more stuff, like they might finaly put the FRC into Multiplayer!

*sigh*
Check the recent H2V update.

Better yet, check my FAQ.

-What you call "HUD lag" (honestly, you're the first) hasn't been confirmed if it is appearing or not.
-Live Windows will be a feature utilized by H2V
-No new weapons
-Graphics do not sell a game, especially a recyle of one that has already come out

We have the FRC in HaloPC multiplayer and it is an over-powered noob magnet. No need to do us any favors and bring that garbage weapon back.

Single player modding is 100% possible in it.

This one is supported, once again

Autoaim. On a PC shooter
If you use a mouse, it won't effect you.

Some sort of Live for Multiplayer. On a PC game.
XBL is part of windows vista, most PC games will use it.
Other than slightly shinier graphics and Keyboard/Mouse, what reason do I have to buy Halo 2 all over again? I might as well save the 60 bucks, save the hassle of Vista, and keep playing on the Xbox.
Halo 2 is halo 2, it isn't being developed for xbox players to rebuy. It's for PC gamers, who will become potential Halo 3 buyers, and modders.

You proven wrong in bold.

yeah i get that i can still use my directx9 card with vista (otherwise prerelease candidates would be rare), if this is the case, why bother making it using directx10 for vista only? scroll up and see my reasoning why...
