Ok....I don't know about everyone else, but I'm tired of a couple of things with the Halo for PC Online.

1. Modded Servers
2. Not enough Info about Server

Modded Servers
I have to spend more time going from server to server trying to find an unmodded one than I do playing. The mods can be intresting and fun to mess around with from time to time, but it would be nice if there were more unmodded one out there. The main thing I see Bungie being able to do is start a ton of servers that are "officall" and of naturally would be unmodded. This is a problem, becuause it would require a lot of work on Bungie's part. I fually understand this....It is just the most obvious action I can think of.

Not Enough Info about a Server
What do I mean. Simply all I am saying is that there is not enough information about a server avalable form the Menue. Such as, if it is Rockets only, or....I dont know....I say this because, frankly...if the server hasn't bee modded in some wa, it is Rockets or Snips only. I personally get tires of that. Every once and awhile I just want to play a normal Slayer/Team Slayer/CTF match.....with the normal weapons.......As it is we have to rely on the server name to tell us what the game is like, and most of the time those are so messed up with abbreviations of one sort or another that they are impossible to read.

Now I do have to adress the obvious question..."Why don't I start my own server?"....The answer is......The University I am at dosen't allow it, and as annoyed as I might get, I am not going to break a rule to have a normal game or two.

When you click on a server it gives you server info at the bottom of the screen

Your name is truth...

I want to know the Score! Tell me the Score! It's my birthday!

Um, it doesn't tell you what the starting weapon is or anything like that. I agree with the topic starter on the general lack of info on the servers. I hate it when I join a match only to find out it's rockets only.

Most dedicated servers are rented– they don't reside in the hosts dwelling. Your school should not be able to ban that. Non-dedicated servers are not usually worth playing on.

I agree that the server name that shows up in the gamespy lobby should be more descriptive– if it's all rockets or snipers no shields, list it that way. If it's Blood Gulch 24/7 say so. If it's modded list it as a modded map server. Do you want people popping in for 2 seconds, then leaving when they find it's modded?

Just play on dedicated servers. I enjoy playing on dedicated servers more than home hosted ones. I like this because of the following:

1) There is normally more than one Rcon holder meaning there is not one person in control that is normally a prick that will ban you for killing them once.

2) Because there is generally more than one Rcon holder it really cuts down on the little -blam!- TKing, mouthy, moronic, and noobish players allowed in the server.

3) Normally a good dedicated server will have a good map rotation and fun game types.

4) I have yet to see a dedicated server that was set with modded maps in it's cycle. So a higher percentage of the dedicated servers will be normal.

5) Because when you find one you like with all around friendly and fun people to play with in it, the server is going to be there for some time and will remain under the same name for some time. Obviously this means you can always be sure to find it and game with good people.

If you are looking for a fun dedicated server to play in my clan has a one. The server title is, "{GoG} Recruiting." I am one of the Rcon holders and I am sure to keep up on my job watch over the server when no other clan members are on. I will normally play under the name of {GoG}BLADE; if you see me don't be shy and tell me it's you. Oh and if you do come in don’t be a prick or anything like that (not saying that you are) otherwise we will not hesitate to ban you.

How do you manage to not get a non-dedicated server if you're looking for low ping? I only see one modded ded server frequently. The name at the bottom really does say a lot if you read it. Ones such as "slayer_rockets", "Cliff Mod", "CTF_sniper", "Noshields", are a few I've seen recently.

Well I sort by ping, unless I want to play a specific map or gametype, so I only see a select 3 pages of servers usually.

Ping is a non-issue for me, it always sucks. There are only three dedi servers EVER that have a ping below 100 for me. Cyberslam.com.au 1 and 2, and something else, can't remeber what, but it's modded. And and the Cyber servers are either empty or full of botters whenever I log on. So I sort by players, and join the first server that looks good.
