Each good comment about xbox makes my comfort in spending 150 bucks on a game system better.

You get to play with a controller, not a keyboard and a mouse.

your getting the best action games on the market and one of the best RPG's (knights of the old republic) and you can get better online support than PS2's dinky free service, only for the cost of one game per year

XBox is a good system.

Aside from Halo and Halo 2 (duh). There are a lot of good games. Many of which are highly underrated. Otogi, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Alter Echo, Ninja Gaiden, Gunvalkyrie... all beautiful, really fun games... or in the gaze of Orta and Ninja... really hard ;-)

If you're into DDR, there'll be 2 XBox DDR's out in about 3 weeks (one is out already... duh... UM2 is out a week after Halo). They've got online support and are generall cool.

Although many would disagree, I like playing Morrowind on XBox. Yes, you can't use mods, but there are some pretty fun things about it.

If you like driving games, there's a *ton* of good ones on XBox. It's probably the best system for them.

XBox's basic weakness probably lies in platformers and RPG's. There are a couple pretty decent ones (Vex and Voodoo Vince for platformers, Morrowind and Fable on the RPG side). But generally PS2 and Gamecube have more/better platformers... PS2 has most of the RPG market. I don't really like 3D platformers (it's all been downhill since Genesis). But if that's a decision maker for you, keep it in mind.

Overall, I think XBox is a great system. People whined a lot when XBox released about how you have to buy the DVD kit. But really... PS2 now has a seperate hard drive and broadband adapter which are both native to the XBox and way, way more expensive *each* than the DVD remote. It has a lot of good games (especially if you're in to action games.... it's an awesome console for really stylish stuff), and Live is really slick.

Happy Haloing.
