I just bought this game and I like it a lot. But I have been playing it and I have noticed a strange issue with sound.

I get this constant popping sound when I am firing and it is pretty annoying. I have a Soundblaster Live which I know isn't the best sound card but I have not had any issues with any other game before. And I know it's not my speakers because I have tried to use my headphones also and I get the same thing.

I have the patch, and the most up-to-date drivers, and I have tried all the different sound card configurations in the game and it is still doing it.

Has anyone else had this same issue, or heard about this issue and knows how to fix it?

Thanks,

Stigmata

Heyyo,

My Createive Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer messes up a lot too dude, I'm currently on some old drivers... I found a fix n' it seems to work better for halo, so I'll try updating my soundcard drivers after I get home... here's the link:

http://dmzweb4.europe.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/ ?St=386,E=0000000000030247989,K=7304,Sxi=0,Case=obj(2538)

first try that ACPI fix, and if that doesn't work then do the disabling of DMA on your HD's. If that doesn't work? then you may need to relocate your soundcard to a different PCI slot. I put mine at the bottom, so it's isolated from other cards cause above it I put my CPU's fan adjuster knobs there. ;)
