Whenever I attempt to run Halo I get the "gathering exception data" error. I've tried restarting my comp., uninstalling/reinstalling, and I've searched for this error in other instances. In most cases, people can actually play the game before they get an exception error, but I can't even load the game up past the "Halo" screen that appears after you try to run the game. I've also tried installing Halo PC Custom Edition, but I got the same error. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

A video card NOT approved for the game, but worked anyway...up until recently. I'm thinking it's something to do with a driver, but I have no clue.

I got a video card to do that too. It was a integrated under 32 MB. It would work for a while then crash.

Here's my fantasmagorical guide to fix GEDs:
Step 1) Delete ALL unnecessary data. ALL OF IT. Move what you need to keep to DVDs/other HDs. Keep ONLY OS files.
Step 2) Uninstall any nonessential hardware, and delete the drivers. Keep only vid card, screen and mouse/keyboard, and M/KB don't usually need drivers.
Step 3) Virus/adware/spyware scanners, at least 5 different BRANDS.
Step 4) Check the hard disk for errors, check the CD for scratches/fingerprints/whatnot.
Step 5) Defrag your HD. TWICE.
Step 6) Reinstall Halo, download latest drivers for ALL hardware, and MANUALLY update Halo.
Step 7) Run Halo and hope.

Or buy a new HD\computer and save yourself the repair costs.

Don't get lippy with me just because you're either too stupid, or too lazy to find it. I had the same problem before. And guess where I found the fix for it...

Lol...ok mom. I'm sure you had the EXACT same problem, same video card and driver too. You're a doucheb@g, go outside and get some fresh air. And don't help people if you're just going to attempt to belittle them.
