I've always wondered. Is their anyone in particular that Bungie has a rivalry with? I mean it would be hard to be a rival with Bungie, but hey, Bungie isn't the only company that makes good games. (Of course I am devoted strictly to Bungie)

If not, what would it take for it to become rivals with someone?

(I currently have dial up, and do not have the patience to search out these answers myself.)

In the FPS(first person shooter) universe probably not , maybe with the quake, doom, and half life people, but that is more horror. As for RTS (real time strategy) I might ranks THQ, the creators of dawn of war, and its sequel winter assault, and the creators of age of empires up there with Bungie. It will be interesting to see how this RTS on the consol turns out, that has never really had success.

To become a rival with Bungie, in the FPS world you would need to come up with an original concept of a story plot, one that is just as well developed as Bungie. You would also need to create a new type of combat, or a new aspect of the game. For Bungie they created the vehicle system. That had never been done before (in an FPS), and they nailed it perfectly. It would be very difficult to compete with Bungie for domination of the FPS market. At least for popularity, and fan base. Right now Bungie, is on top of the mountain. Practically every Xbox 360 owner is holding their breath in anticipation of the next Halo. The night before it comes out there will be entire tent cities of people waiting outside of stores, and malls just to get their hands on a copy of halo 3. The future is bright for Bungie, and if they keep up their ability to release new, and original games they will live a long, and healthy existence as a game developer.

I like to Rollick

Well with similar attitude I would go with Rockstar but I don't think Bungie is on that level yet. After Halo 3 thought anything is possible.

If Rare didn't get signed to Microsoft I could of seen A sort of rivalry between them if they actually could make games a little bit faster.

Why are you calling an FPS FTS?!!!!!

I saw an old grainy black and white video of Frankie pimp slapping Cliffy B from Epic games a while back. They then turned on some Westside Story, tied their hands together and had a knife fight.

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

Bungie has no rivals. Rockstar's GTA series aren't FPSes, and I'm pretty sure no one else's sales really rival Bungie's (please correct me if I'm wrong).

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

FTS = Fiery telephone service.

FPS = First Person Shooter.

Counterstrike can boast funtioning multiplayer, but with horrible graphics, and text rather than voice.

1. Source has great graphics.
2. Actualy if you go out and buy a headset you can have voice, just if you don't, then you can text, which is more than you can say for Halo.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Bungie doesn't have a genre rival.

The only rivals to Bungie are the folk that make creative, innovative, and amazing games.

Just look at the Ubisoft Team for Beyond Good and Evil. Didn't they also make Prince of Persia?

A remember a video back in the days of when I think Marathon was under construction...and a certain Jason Jones gave his views on Quake. Maybe it is with ID Software??

Hehe, there's a flaw in your reasoning.

Age of Empires, the one game that you just said might be Bungie's rival, has been created by Ensemble.

Halo Wars is being created by Enemble.

That almost, right there, proves that Bungie is sexy to the fifth power.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

I hope someday in the future Bungie's greatest rival will be Wideload.
