I'm think about a good graphics card I could get that is compatible with a PCI-express x1 slot, I think I found one I like but I'm not sure my computer power supply has enough. I like this one HIS X1300 512MB HyperMemory with 128MB(64bit) DDR2 PCIe x1
I want too know if it would work on my computer, but it doesn't tell how much power it uses. Please only suggest other PCI or PCI-express x1. Those are the only ones my computer has slots for. no cards more then $150, I checked some sites but can't find any with reviews that sound good.

*checks manual* 230 Watts power supply

Right now I use my Dads computer for halo, this one only has integrated. His has a X800 Radeon. It runs halo well, around 60 frames per second. But I he complains about it taking up space. I would get it but i have no PCI-e x16 slots.

I know very little about computer hardware, but I know enough to tell you to upgrade teh PSU ASAP. Go cheap if you have to.

I know a moderate amount about computer hardware, and I know enough to tell you that if the PSU has good amps, then you're fine, but mainly DO NOT go cheap.

yeah with 230 watts do not get an x1k card. if you're worried about an x800 taking up space, i'd be more worried about your proc not being able to run.

Well i just looked at the X1300 and i couldnt find the amout of power it uses but i did find out that it actually uses some of your shared memory for the 512-there is actually only about 128megs of dedicated memory there and the rest somes from RAM. But i see you have one gig so you will be good on the 512 but i do reccommend you upgrade that PSU- we ran into that problem when we got my two nvidia 7900GTXs-my computer didnt have the supplementary SLI connectors and so we had to go out and get a new PSU so to cover us from now on we just got the 1 kilowatt for about 500 bucks.

I got a Radeon 9250 256MB and 128BIT from compUSA. The one I have is made by Norwood Micro. It has all the dual display capable things and cost $50.

I got my graphics card and it helps alot, I can play with shaders in set11 setting now. I get about 30-35 fps in the lower setting but only around 15-25 in the ones past 1000 width. Are there any ways to overclock my graphics card that will improve performance and not shorten my graphics card life too much? And are there any good over clockign programs out there that anyone here uses

I found an over clocking tool, it works pretty good. I looked at a site that overclocked a couple 9250 and they maxed out the over clock at about 375 using a a passive heat sink. My graphics card has a a fan and heat sink. so does that means I will be able to overclock it more? So far just overclocking the memory rose my fps by 5, with just a 21mb change. Also, what is an artififact when you overclock?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOO
you bought a 9250 over an x1k series????? i am so sorry man. so sorry. that card is worth 10-30 dollars at a online retailer. the 9250 is not supported for any modern fps. its also is no longer supported by ATI's own drivers. with an x1300 you could have gotten 60+ FPS max settings and i high resolution... along with forced anti aliasing. you made a huge mistake by 1. buying it from comp USA and 2. getting an AGP card that is 5 years old. rethink this purchase man.

well, considering that the HIS Hightech Radeon X1300 512MB HyperMemory with 128MB Onboard 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Video Card, is the only card made for pci express x1, then get it, if you really want, but i recomend upgrading your mobo and getting either an Nvidia 7600 GS or an ATI x1650 PRO, best bang fpr your buck, both about 150 if not less on newegg.

yea my butt 60+ fps with that card and those settings, i have a 256mb x700 which has higher clock speeds in everything than the x1300 and i cant even touch anti aliasing and cant go higher than 1024 x 720 maxed out and i barely touch 60+, the x1300 is basically an overpriced x300 with an extra 1 and the x300 was crapola. so don't listen to a word this guy is saying because he clearly doesn't know anything.
