I have noticed that both the "Halo 3" and "New Mombasa" forums has been flooded with Fan-Fictions as of late. I was thinking, wouldn't it be better to have a seperate forum for those guys to post those in?

It just feels like they don't belong in there.

What do you guys think? Bad idea?

Nah, just use groups for fan-fics. Or a general "fan created" forum would be nice. Get rid of the Voting Booth or The Gallery, and use it for art and writing created by fans.

A long discussed prospect, this idea for creating a fan fiction forum has been under scrutiny for over a year already. It is doubtful that one will come into effect, mainly because there are already abundant fan fictions in the HBO database, as well as here on bungie.net.

As well as in the larger forums, there are also several groups which deal with fan fiction, the largest of those being the Official Fanfic Group. Of course, Fan fiction for Halo has slowed down significantly, and at the moment it would be ill advised to make one. After speaking with one of the moderators at HBO who deals with the fan fiction, he stated that they were lucky to get 10 pieces of writing a week, compared to the 50-200 of the past.

Well, I just think that Fan-Fictions shouldn't be in the main forums. Maybe a rule? But then all the people who post'em would get pissed so I guess there is no use. So, sorry for wasting space and time. But I guess it was worth a try.

I wouldn't say that H3 and New Mombasa are flooded with them, but there are quite a few that have been posted. Most of them don't get bumped unless the author posts new material, so I don't see a major problem.

But perhaps a fan-fiction forum might do the writers well - it would make the writings more accessible to the masses on b.net, that is, if they're really all that interested in the first place.
