I recently downloaded the Halo Dedi from here: http://www.bungie.net/Games/HaloPC/page.aspx?section=FAQInfo& amp;subsection=Support&page=dedserverreadme

I think I get the gist of it, but I have a quick Q. Do I need to run the haloded.exe at all times for the server to be up?

I also heard that you can't run a dedi on a machine that has the normal game on it, is this true? If so, why?

I have another PC, but it has the same IP addy, would it work on there?

Don't double post.

You need to have the program running for the server to be up. You can have Halo installed on the same machine, you just can't play it while the server is running.

Don't double post. There's an edit button at the bottom right corner of your posts. Read the stickies, please.

No, you can have a dedicated server run on a machine that has the normal game installed. Your other PC can run the dedicated server, but unless you do some switching with ports you won't be able to join it from your own computer.

OK, thanks.

And I don't see what's wrong with my double post, its not like I was trying to bump the thread, it was still the first one under the stickys.

Double posting is still against the rules, whether you use it to bump threads or not.

I don't think that's true. Many people here have only one computer, yet they play in their own dedicated servers. And they all have proof and stuff, I remember this a long time ago. I forgot their b.net account names though, I'd PM him to explain to all of you guys about joining your own server.
