I haven't been here and a while and gave up searching after 15 mins, so don't flame if this is a repeat thread.

Blood Gulch; I can't tell whether it's balanced or not. Due to the placement of weapons and hills, one team can always dominate regardless of skill.

Fuel Rod Cannon: 5 seconds away from Blue team teleporter, 15 seconds away from Red base walking, 30 seconds away from Red Team teleporter. Blue team almost always gets this, and can destroy the entire red team within seconds if used averagely.

Hill by Red team teleporter: Red team can totally demolish blue team here with a sniper, pistol, or heavy weapon, even more with a tank. Without flanking or well-placed grenades Blue team can't do anything about Red team here. If Blue team gets here, they can just keep telly-killing Red team.

Hills Behind Red & Blue teams: For Red team, it has an overlook at everything but the hill behind Blue base. It can destroy everything here, even places behind hills. Nothing is safe. The hill behind Blue base sees everything as far as the Blue base teleporter. It makes any enemies going near Blue base suicide. You cannot go through the caves because it sees them too.

I know this is supposed to be an assymetrical map, but it seems like it would need a bit more balance. Even though It's too late to change it. Opinions?

It's not supposed to be asymmetrical, or balanced. Red team has a distinct advantage; their armor color blends in with the dirt and thus it is harder to notice them. Though blue's teleporter is closer to the overshield/active camo spawn, red is closer to the rocket launcher, while some may debate which team is closer to the fuel rod gun.

It does needs balance. However, I must strongly disagree with what you say regarding skill and weapons placement. You're completely forgetting the pistol. The equalizer. With this, the weapon placements on the map become less significant, and the better team will always win with skill, regardless whether if they have the best weapons or not.

The few, the proud, the leet.

The map isn't designed for balance, it's designed to force people to fight others. By accomplishing that, it goes much further than any attempt of balance.

Red's base is also higher in elevation, or at least it seems like it to me. Going red base to blue base always seems easier than the other way around.

Not to mention the Red team's back cliff hidden in shadows. A whole crap load of Red snipers can hide there and shed the bloods of the poor Blue teams. Heck, I even order my clan members/men to station warthog .50 cal machine guns or warthog triple-barreled rocket launchers along with a few snipers on the cliff to provide artillery, machine gun supressing fire, and sniper small-arms fire during tough matches.

This is Halo, not Battlefield 2. Are you talking about the people who stand still when they shoot, or worse, crouch because they think that makes them harder to hit? Their vapor trails, the rockets' smoke, the tracers coming from the chain guns are very easy to notice. Any player with half a brain will know where the fire is coming from.

These "tough matches" you talk about, who do you fight against? Public noobs who just started playing the game? I don't want to be insulting or anything, but in a real game, with real players who know how to lead their shots, doing something like camping your warthogs and snipers up on the cliffs is suicidal, impractical, and it just plain doesn't work.

A person who has just played Halo for the first time can easily realize that if he picks up a sniper rifle and simply strafes the enemy projectiles with ease, he can take out stationary targets, like a person who is mounting a rocket warthog or a sniper who is standing still. Basically, camping in the shadows of the hill behind red base is like ringing a giant dinner bell to snipers, like turning the hill behind red base into a God damned Christmas tree, with so much fire erupting from it.
