Of course you can, if you have seen the single player E3 demo chief is dual wielding two submachine guns, but you can have any combination (needler/submachine gun etc) and then he switches back to his battle rifle.

Play as a team win as a team or die as a team!

Will the Dual Wielding count as two guns or one and say I have 4 guns in all together 2 in each hand and I have the other set can I do that? Like we all know u can only carry 2 guns in Halo like for example a Assualt Rifle(set 1) and a Plasma Rifle(set 2) say I lose the Assualt Rifle and get 3 guns 1 in each hand a like a Plasma Rifle and a Needler in (set 2) and 2 SMGs in(set 2). So in other words can I have two pairs of weapons!?

You can only dual-wield with one-handed weapons. Also, no, they don't count as both of your weapons. Someone brought up the 2003 E3 demo video. Watch it, it will answer all your questions. MC dual-wields 2 smg's and then switches to his battle rifle. Then he switches back to the smg's at the end.

As of E32k4, that has changed, BigC. Now, each weapon counts as one weapon towards your total of two. As such, if you have an SMG and are dual wielding it with a needler, you won't be picking up a battle rifle without putting down the needler first.

Or, if you have a plasma pistol, equipped, and a plasma rifle in waiting, if you pick up a needler to go with the pistol, the rifle will drop.

You will have 2 sets of weapons

you can have 1 two-handed weapons, 2 one-handed weapons, or 1 one-handed weapon

engery sword counts as two handed

while duel weilding cannot melee attack or throw grenades but you can shoot the two at separate times and reload one while shooting with the other

if you have a rocket launcher you can still melee attack and throw grenades and you can switch to your other set of weapons and duel weild or just have another powerful two-handed weapon

it is that simple

I know he had a Battle Rifle while duel-wielding a needler and SMG. Notice how he had to chuck both one-handed weapons to pick up the Plasma Sword? If you also look he didn't have 2 weapons with the Plasma Sword, He had it and the Battle Rifle, because he pulls out the Battle Rifle to shoot the ghost.
