Can master chief hold other weapons than the AR in cutscenes of Halo 1?

Why don't you just give me ONE SECOND!

Good question. I often wondered about that. Especially when I had the Sniper or a Covenant weapon. I don't know, sorry.

There was this one time on Assault on the Control Room where I took a ghost through the last blast door before the cutscene at a fair rate of speed. I exited the ghost, unintentionally right at the gameplay "cut-off" point. The ghost I had been riding struck me from behind, killing me. To my suprise, the cutscene continued but when the chief should have been walking his model was seen, unanimated, just...there. Different scenes ment different positions but in one he was hovering, in another he was at a diagonal angle w/ the ground, he was even stuck in the floor in another. Almost like the game was attempting to manipulate the dead Cheif.

Point is that apparently the cutscenes are not prerendered but more like actual gameplay that has its commands recorded. Bungie must have missed the weapon matching feature. I always found it odd to be displayed in a cutscene with the AR and then start with a different weapon.

Unfortunately, no. In the original Halo, the cutscenes were only programmed to show him holding the Assault Rifle. In Halo 2, however, they made it more variable. It's random, but your alter-ego will hold in the cutscene the weapon you were holding during gameplay.

It's odd that in the original Halo they couldn't get the in-gameplay weapons in there, yet they got dead bodies, bullet holes, AI characters, even vehicles in there. : P

Yup. For some reason when I run myself over with a vehicle or blow myself up at the AOTCR cutscene, I die and it skips the cutscene.

in the beginning of two betrayals you start with a PP and a shotty. i think that is what he was leading up to but i don't think he understood what you were saying.

On Metropolis, after you kill the Scarab, I've gottent he sword to show up a few times! Sorry, never tried it in H1. But yeah, what you do is get two weapons that won't show up(i.e, RL) use it up, then take the sword from the Spec op in there.

In the last cutscene of Two Betrayels the MC stood there getting shot by sentinels until he died just as the teleportation began. My friend and I couldn't stop laughing.

I got that to happen in Truth and Reconciliation. I didn't kill everyone when you go to free Captain Keyes, and the Jackels outside killed all the marines, MC, and CK. Funny as hell.

No, it doesn't. Assault rifle only. I've seen these out-of-place cutscenes happen all the time, with vehicles in the way and enemies nearby, it's pretty interesting to see them.

For example, at the end of the Assault of the Control Room, when you are near the end of the level, if you keep two hunters alive, and go to the cutscene where Master Chief walks up to the control panel, they keep shooting fuel rods at him and he just bounces around, is shaken up a bit, but stays in place, on track. It's really messed up.

i agree especially for Silent Cartographer cause he's always carrying a battle rifle even if I have a rocket launcher out
that mission's kinda old...an awesome mission is the first one since it's kinda like the first mission in Half Life

does anyone agree that every single flood mission in either Halo game sucks

Its kind of weird that, everything else happens, like if you leave the enemy(like what I did in the Truth and Reconlition or whatever, when you're rescuing Keyes, I skipped the enemy and when the cheif and Keyes was talking, they were also getting shot), like someone said above, everything else happens but not your weapon
