After reading comments that suggested a significant increase in posts on the 9th, it dawned on me that I might never notice, because I would be too busy playing H2 to log in and see <g>.

Many people are talking about taking time off work, and I think I may have to sleep solid for a couple days prior to release, since I'll be up for at least a week after (lol).

I mean really, who in their right mind will have time to post anything? Chances are good, most of you will want to see each other on live anyway. I hardly even e-mail my friends anymore, because there's no reason to; we talk on Live everyday.

I think the forums, with the exception of experience/help forums will wane.

But then, I've been wrong about so many things.....Ha

I suppose we shall see, or hear as might be the case. One thing I've noticed about many Halo players from the xbconnect arena; they have no concept of the ramifications of what a headset and real speech can do to a game. I have found the effects to be profound.

Suddenly, we are all much more transparent, regardless of whether real or perceived. Headsets have a tendency to cause game rooms to be self-policing. If people talk crapola, they get the group boot quickly, or they blend in nicely if they really want some friends. If people yank their headsets, especially in multi-games, they should and usually do get the group boot.

Please don't take my comments regarding some peoples perceptions (from the XBC arena) as negative. I have been extremely impressed with the techniques players have adapted to communicate with each other while playing an online game that does not support headset communication (H1).

After being mele'd to the front, and shot to get my attention, I've tried skype, xfire, and even secondary xboxes logged in to the xboxlive dashboard, so I could speak to friends while playing Halo from a distance. So for those of us who haven't been playing H2 for the last couple of weeks, things are going to get interesting for us in a broad spectrum of areas.

I think that many things will change on the 9th of November, many for the better. Regardless of anyone's half-full/ half-empty perspective; it's inevitable.

Best to all.......

Good riddance I say. half the people here are (if I may use a phrase from the old B.net) "Halo 2 noobs"... People who come only for information about halo2. I can only hope these dumbassess leave and cease their -blam!- of the bungie community. thank you. that is all.
