The demand for Halo PC is largely among PC owners, who don't want to play using a console controller or can't afford a PC/Console.

Excuse me? I'm sorry, but I'm either going blind/deaf, or you are being one of the most ignorant person I've ever met. We can't afford consoles?! What brand of crack have you been smoking lately, because, just so you know, PC gaming, gaming rig PC's, etc. costs 10x more than dumb consoles WITH their stupid controllers. One good gaming rig PC is about 1000-2000, custom made or store bought, while the "computers for idiots" aka, the gaming consoles are like what, the most expensive one out there, the PS3, is 500-600 dollars?

Speak stupid things AFTER graduating elemantary school. Peace out kid.

he's correct. I have a nice pc, and so can't afford a 360/ps3/wii yet. Though the Wii is coming soon.

I'm going to have to ask you the same thing, Ipjuunin. You are the ignorant person.

I don't think you realize that consoles are more user-friendly, and that there is almost a computer in nearly every household in America. Since they aren't really meant for gaming like the $2000 PCs you mentioned, most of the computers that people are playing with are hand-me-downs or still belong to the parents. They didn't have to pay a damn thing for it, they just paid for the copy of Halo PC. Now, since they didn't get the money to buy their computer, what the hell makes you think that they can afford a $400 console?

Yes, I do see your point, a good gaming computer is much more expensive than a console, but those who have good gaming computers likely won't play on their consoles (if they even have any) often.

I say the same thing to you, "Speak stupid things AFTER graduating elementary school. Peace out kid."

Really? Well, that blows my theory that demand for Halo PC is from distraught housewives looking for an escape from thier boring, mundane lives...

Thank you Captain Obvious for showing me the error of my ways...

who don't want to play using a console controller or can't afford a PC/Console.

This part doesn't even make sense...

I understand your point, and kept that fact in mind while I was ranting. So I am not mad at you for using my quote. xP

But think of it this way. In your example, the kid buying just the copy of Halo PC, but not doing anything special for their PC's, I'm not sure if they're considered my standards of a "PC gamer".

When I said PC gaming, I meant actually doing stuff with your PC, as in upgrading it, knowing almost everything there is to know about it, yaddy yaddy ya. Basically the hardcore stuff. Now compare that with console gamers. They just get the console(s), the game(s) they want, the amount of controllers they want, the amount of memory cards they want, and that's pretty much it, unless they want a High-Def Plasma Widescreen TV as a sideorder. PC gamers spend alot more, have more knowlegde, and even gains more throughout the PC-building/different store comparing. If they can afford alot more than granted, then they can definitely afford 2 PS3's for the heck of it.

He's saying that PC gamers don't like Halo considering it was originally a console exclusive title. Most PC gamers would prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard for first-person shooters. Thus, how else can they enjoy Bungie's great game, Halo, without needing to play with a controller?

By the way, a considerable percentage of people who play Halo PC have also played Halo on the original Xbox or own it already. Just thought you should know.

I'm going to have to disagree with that last part. Just because you bought an expensive gaming computer does not mean you have enough money to buy consoles.

I do agree with what you say, but you must face that a large percentage of those who play Halo PC are those who cannot afford consoles.

By the way, I'd really appreciate it if you stopped bashing consoles. Why do you disrespect them so?

Wow. I really don't understand where that witty comeback you made came from Ipjuunin, but the point that you missed was that I was implying one cannot always afford a $1000 computer and a $400 video game console. Not to mention the controllers, games for both platforms, and the internet subscription service for the console itself.

Adding to that, Obi Wan, I was responding to the author this thread's question about if there was activity. Him saying if there was any interest, I responded saying PC gamers play Halo PC, as console gamers play Halo 2. I really don't understand what part of that was difficult to understand. Comprehension is usually a good skill to have. Just a heads up.

Also, you didn't have to be such an ass and act like a jerk. That's my job! Damn, you're starting to act like me. XP

I don't always disprespect them, I just hate the people that's always talking about console games, thinking they know everything there is to current-gen gaming, yet when I ask them do they play any PC games, they always respond, "What, you mean stuff like computer card games?". They have no idea that PC gaming beats console gaming in both the short-run and the long-run.

I also don't like consoles because, well, like I said, they're pretty much computers-for-idiots. It ONLY plays games, so since the console is set up perfectly FOR games, the players don't have to worry about errors, or configurations, or patches, etc. (Well, usually.) They're easy to set up, and the players/customers never have to worry about upgrades, because everything is all there: the graphics are default, the framerates ar default, nothing ever goes up or down. (once again, "Well, usually.", lol)

Don't get me wrong Master Kim, I still enjoy playing console games. Remember when I told you guys my first game was Tekken 3, for the first Playstation? It just so happens I still play it time to time, and many other great old-school games on consoles.

EDIT: Anyways, I apologize to Coup De Ta for ranting at him for no reason (I was feeling a bit pissed today, sorry), and you too Kim. Heck, I half-apologize to consoles, but you can't stop me from hating them! Puhahaha! xP

As a moderator (who's name I have forgotten) said, Arguing about consoles is like arguing about tools.

My hammer can pound nails. But my drill can do the job better. One is easier to use, requires little maintenance, and can still get the job done. However, for those willing to pay a bit of extra money, they can use a drill.

Don't get me wrong, I like gaming desktop PCs better than I will any console. Computers and computer gaming is the best and it's what I live for. But you and I know both know that not all console gamers are adolescent racial-slur screaming retards or six-year-old brats. Don't generalize, man, don't stereotype.

I believe that was Recon Number 54 who said that. By the way, I like drills better. :P

Seriously, I think computers are the superior gaming machines. But that doesn't mean you have to hate consoles. I dislike those PC gaming purists who think games can only be played with mice and keyboards. Though I love using the mouse and keyboard, that doesn't mean I hate the controller. I just find the mouse and keyboard to be better, that's all.

M/Kb is a good choice for some types of games (FPS, RPG, RTS, TBSG) While controllers are better for games such as Racing or fighting. Sure you could go out and buy a racing wheel. But that's one of those peripherals that you normally wouldn't bother with unless you were really into racing games.

BTW: Anyone here ever tried playing the Sims 2 on Xbox? It's freakin impossible to make a decent house using a controller.

Ugh, indeed. That shows all they're really trying to do is make some easy dollars off of it. A game will only go so far without decent controls. Hopefully Halo Wars won't end the same way. I hope I've made my point.

i cant afford a new console. i have a nice pc 1000mghz, nvidia geforce 6200 a-le,512 mb of ram but all of those parts were bought from months of saving. i cant just wake up and say, i think ill buy a ps4 today and go get it. in fact im getting an xbox 1 just as soon as the price at gamestop drops like 20 dollars which will be after xmas.

Edit: I wanna add in reply to the comment that consoles ONLY play games that is not true. A good example of this is the new PS3 that just came out. Sony has also released the console with a moddified fermware. these consoles are being bought by hospitals. it allows you to input information about a patient's sickness, disease, wtvr, and the ps3 can help do research and come up with cures. Also, have you ever heard of the PSX? It was only released in Japan, but it has all the functionalities of a PS2 but is also a home PC that can store infromation, browse the web, make text files etc, the PSX was basicly a hassle free pc-like a breed between a work machine of a pc and a user friendly console. Dude, you are just adding fuel to the fire."Next time, do a little research."

Riiiigggghhhhtttt.... And I'm sure all the doctors have to do is pick up the controller and play "Zap the virus"?

This reminds me of how Saddam bought 10,000 PS1's and used the computer chips to guide his nuclear missiles?

Just so you know, that never happened. And I'd like to see some proof, because that's a pretty lofty claim.

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

I bought a $7,500 bicycle, (made to measure titanium and carbon fiber wonder machine), but could only "afford" a used Honda. It all depends on priorities.

You could buy a spiffy comp and not be able to justify a console, especially if you hate using controllers, or you're only interested in one gaming title.

I personally like controllers more because they just feel more natural in your hands then a keyboard and mouse.
