iv tried sniping the flood with 8 rounds and it still didnt die! WHY!

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

because the sniper is designed to penetrate through vital organs and kill instantly. the bad thing is the flood really have none, you need to do a lot of damage to them to stop them cold and make the body unusable. since a sniper rifle plows through it's target quickly it doesn't do much damage to it, just leaves a hole.

they even make mention to this in the books.

this is why CE is more realistic, the flood have 0 vital organs, but in H2 they gave them a vital organ on their chest making then a 1 hit kill with the snipe.

Probably due to the amount of firepower. The shotgun works so well because it just literally shreds them, but the Sniper just makes a single, fine hole, which isn't enough to kill one.

It's simple thinking, really. An armor-piercing round would logically go right through them and probably through fifty other Flood-infected marines behind it, because of their decomposed bodies, the head is only where it matters. I could elaborate more, but I think I've made my point. It's like trying to shoot through gelatin.

the reason it does that in halo2 is because the infection forms take up residence inside the chest. thats how they control the bodies. Thats why if you hit the chest you hit the flood and kill it.

It's called "anti-material" for a reason. It's designed more to punch through the armour of vehicles or destroy unexploded ordinance than to use against living targets. The weapon is chambered in 14.5mm Russian, which was used in anti-tank rifles.

Yeah where the shotgun rips stuff out and carries a huge punch the sniper rifle really doesn't.

Actually the sniper works on Infection forms in H1 & 2. But the sniper really doesn't work that well on the combat forms and carriers that well. But the Beam Rifle works very well for some reason.

in h1 and h2 the sniper kills combats you just have to be very accurate and hit were the heart would be if it was still there they just made the target bigger in h2 if u hit thr right place it still works.

the shotgun works so well cuz if u fire that many pellets at something its almost impossible to miss the infection form and 1 pellet is strong enough to kill it so even if only 1 hits the infection form dies so the combat form dies also.

Well in Halo 2 its more eralistic because the novels describe the spore going into the chest. And have you ever tried sniping them in Halo 2? Its no where near as easy as sniping Elites.

Because the flood are really like parasitic, undead humanoids... they don't have anything that keeps them alive so using a gun that is meant to take out vital points {Heart, head, lungs, stomache} simply won't work.. this also explains why the Pistol does little to nothing against them as well. The Shotgun is really your only real friend against a pack of Flood... and some grenades and a rocket launcher.
