Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

The more I hear about H2V the less I want it :P

Heyyo,

I voted yes. I can't wait for the next installment of Halo on Vista. Already got (legit) Vista Ultimate with product key, so I'm activated genuinely, and just waiting for the demo/release. =)

Master Exploder style!... I do not need... a microphone... my voice is freakin'... POWERFUL!!!

(harhar, totaly -blam!- the censor system on that one... oh wait....)

anywho, my main giddies is proper netcode, and the voice chat (as long as it ain't music over ip, and it's voice over ip, and also not yelling kids over IP), should be fun.

Heyyo,

Posted by: Brandon Heat
Blah! Soon there going to be Halo 3 for PC! If that happened I will laugh because I waste my money buying Halo 3 for 360 and bungie make it for the PC with NEW things. If i was bungie i will just make it come 360 and PC so i can chosse one to buy but i'm not sure they really going to that. I hope they better not make a Halo 3 PC.

Let's do some release date comparisons

Halo1Xbox: November 14, 2001
Halo1PC: August 30, 2003

Halo2Xbox: November 9, 2004
Halo2Vista: (supposedly) January 2007

Halo3Xbox360: (supposedly Spring 2007)
Halo3Vista: ... not announced, or planned (Like Halo2Vista).

so we may see Halo3Vista in 2010 at the earliest... just under 2 years by about 2 months for Halo1 port to PC... Halo 2 port to PC taking over 2 years by 2 months if it's released in January... so gonna guess for H3V 2 years and 4 months from H3XB360's release date....

now you're probably asking "why won't they release Halo 3 on PC and XBox360 at the same time?" well... cause you see, Microsoft wants to win the "next-gen console wars"... Halo is one of their main weapons, thus if it comes to PC, it must be when it shouldn't take any thunder away from the console. That's why. ;)

Using that logic we won't get our hands on Gears of War until the end of 2009.

Using that logic I doubt Gears of War will ever get ported to the PC.

Why not just by a god-damn xbox? One word: Halo 3
That's two words, and I've got words for you: Halo 3 only works for the Xbox 360.

Posted by: CovanatSlayer117
So what if it has a few grapical tweaks? SO WHAT?? Unless it has something MAJOR in it (Like new maps, weapons, etc.), then getting the PC version of Halo 2 is a waste of money...

P.S: Getting the OS is also a waste of money (due to the fact that when you install it, most programs that would work for Windows XP or earlier won't work at all on Vista)

Seriously, you need to get a brain before you say stupid stuff. There aren't going to be new maps or weapons from what we've heard so far, but there's going to be a God damned map editor, and the HPC modding community is eager to get their hands on Halo 2 for the computer.

Also, Windows XP is an outdated piece of crap, and Windows Vista is significantly improved if you knew anything about computers. Who the hell said that most programs wouldn't work on Vista? Who? Give me a link. Even if what you say is true, which I don't totally doubt, Microsoft could always create backwards compatibility updates for such programs. Seriously, before you say what you think, think!

A map editor? Sweet. I may consider it........

Anyways, since the Vista is using 64-bit arcitecture (I think) it will be like Windows NT when it was realeased (Since it used 32-bit and not 16-bit a lot of programs that would work on a 16-bit system wouldn't work at all on Windows NT). Trust me. I used Window XP Pro 64-bit (uses a 64-bit arcitecture, like Vista) and most of my programs didn't work on it. Yes, I understand XP is a peice of crap but I'm not upgrading if a lot of my programs won't work at all on it....
you'll need 3rd party tools to use HEK 2.0. the crew at bungie uses 3rd party tools... if you're an experienced HEK user, you'll need to polish your skills in HEK 2.0

first of all... h2v is going to have modding tools availiable, making user-made levels, and ingame content

second, you'll upgrade to vista sooner or later, so why not sooner than later

third, vista is a WAY better os than XP. it features better connectivity than xp ever has, it explores the internet for newer drivers (not just your computer like xp) it has better parental and administration controls making your computer more secure and with the latest version--msdn RTM, you can try it out via filesharing for 30 days. vista also has backwards compatibility with xp, it has a file transfer wizard and it also has a compatibility wizard, that allows you to run programs at different system settings. there are a few programs that are still incompatible here are some solutions:
symantec antivirus corp 10.0-get symantec antivirus corp 10.2-fileshare
zbrush-i still cant figure this one out
aim 5.0, triton, pro, ect..-get aim6.0
some games have patches

*note* you'll need photoshop and 3dsmax for the new halo editing tools

it will better of coming out 360 and PC. :) No matter what they still going to win.

"it will better of"? Grammar you learn need to. Seriously.

It's a freaking 360 title exclusive, they're not porting it to PC.

Ok, when I heard about the PC version of Halo 2 and looked at it's screenshots the first thing that came to mind was "It's the same as the Xbox version!". Seriously, does Bungie REALLY expect us to buy the same game but on a computer?

Many people including yourself need to realize that the game is not just intended for the Xbox/Halo fanbois, but the PC gamers as well. There's a multitude of gamers who never liked Halo because of the fact they were originally console games, and thus you had to play with a controller, which many prefer not to use, as it's a huge gimp to PC gamers. Now, they can finally enjoy the Halo series without using gamepads. You need to realize that.

Also, you need to pay much more attention to the screenshots. Notice the gigantic resolution, and the improved graphics. Yes, they aren't that significant, as there are huge jaggies in need of some serious anti-aliasing, but keep in mind it's a freaking early build. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you shouldn't be in a PC gaming forum, dude.

If you're not going to get Halo 2, then Windows Vista is sure as hell worth getting. With all the awesome new games that are coming soon to Windows Vista, and with DirectX 10 arriving next year, Games for Windows on the latest high-end PCs will make the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 look like eight bit baby toys.

We don't know if we need 3dsmax this time around, but you definately don't need photoshop. There are many free programs with almost the same functionality as photoshop and will work just as well.

For those of you saying

Total Moron
Halo 2 vist has know knew feters! OMFGWTFHSBBTT WTFHBYS

I don't think you people relize the signifigance of custom map content. Hundreds! Maybe THOUSANDS of maps by the time the game has run it's life span. Mods for new guns, gameplay tools, vehicles, characters. The gratness of this game isn't going to be decided by bungie, it's about the mod comunity who are most likley going to work they're ass of for us.

WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!

There's a few things you need to know:

1) It's forbidden to use the word "noob" or any related words IN the public formuses.
2) I'm NOT A NOOB!!!!
3) Please keep those type of comments IN YOUR HEAD! No one wants to hear negitive feedback.
4) I don't care weather Vista will make the 360 and PS3 look like a NES. I'm sticking with my Xbox version (for now......). I'm also sticking with my XP.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

There's a few things you need to know:

1) To be honest, the ninjas don't give a crap if the word noob is used. No disrespect to them intended, but just because they have a picture of them about to blacklist somebody for saying noob doesn't mean they'll enforce it. Yes, even though they said they will blacklist anybody who uses the word noob, I have used it since I joined this forum, and I have yet to be blacklisted.

2) You may or may not be a noob, but you're pretty close.

3) Yes they do. In a sense.

It must be so embarassing for you to look at your name everyday with the knowledge that you can't even spell "Covenant."

Well, when I was making my name I didn't know how Covenant was spelt so I went with the best I can (which was Covanat). And I don't find it enbarressing to have my name spelt wrong ( but I do find it annoying when people start making fun of it). But still, many people do get what my nickname is despite my spelling error. Also, many people don't notice it so it's not much of a big deal....

P.S: You should have PMed me instead of posted it here.
