Ok I'm stuck on this one. I downloaded Fraps and I made like 5 vidoes. But ot my horror on none of the mthe audio works! I have record sound checked off. Should I use a different type of input or do I need to buy something to record sound? Thanks.

maybe have record sound checked on!

but if you can't, I don't know what's up, Fraps should record sound, especially the licensed version, so have sound checked to on, if it still doesn't work, I don't know what to do, as I have 1.9D which has no audio capability

Yeah its checked off. I used the one from Nessy. Well if no one can figure it out looks like music is going into my montages.

What's the sound input set as?

I was about to suggest that. Go to Start>control panel>Sound Speech and Audio devices>sounds and audio devices, and make sure all those settings are correct as well. I know with GameCam and my Harman/kardon speakers, i have to switch my audio sound playback to Soundmax in order for Gamecam to record in-game sounds

Ok I have two options. Sigma Tel Audio or Modem #0 Line Playback. Which one should I use? I just thought. Do I need a microphone to record the sound?

Do you know what sound card you have?

Yeah, it depends what sound card you are using. But as for the Playback Option, you want to go with whatever your video card is. This may cause your speakers to have no sound, but fraps should be recording sound. Then just go back and reset the options to hear the sounds on the video. What i suggest you do, though, is that before you record whatever it is you want to record, do a sound test with Fraps. Change the audio settings, record a short clip with sound in it, then go back, reset the settings, and watch the video. If it works fine, then we have found the problem.

That's not a bad idea, I didn't reply to this thread earlier because I thought you might be better off without the sound.

Master Kim, you are cruel.

See if you can use GameCam. There is a full version of GameCam Pro one the Drunken Racoon Army's download server that isn't indexed on Google. I'm sure you can PM Nessy (where is Nessy, anyway?) and he would be more than happy to point out the link.

Nessy was blacklisted. Now about that download, I happen to know where to find it, which is here, or directly here. Note that it is a rar file and you will need Winrar to open it.

Don't give up man. Took me forever to find a solution to my audio problem and now it works fine. But like Trekkie said, gamecam works really good. The free, trial version doesn't record sound, but the retail version does (that's the one i have), and it does it pretty well too. What's the sound program on your computer? Cause you might have to configure that instead of all the other stuff i said.

Which is why I posted this link: Game Cam Pro

You probably have your recording control set to the wrong input dude. ;)

go to...
>Start
>Control Panel
>Sounds And Audio Devices
>Audio Tab
>on "Sound Recording" hit the "Volume" Button

now, on this window, you will see a couple inputs, to make sure you have the full list.... go:

>Options
>Properties
>ensure "Recording" is selected
>put a checkmark in "Show the following volume controls"

Now? try different recording selections, cause one of those is for recording sounds the soundcard generates. All creative soundcards call it "What-U-Hear" while I think realtek onboard sound devices call it "Stereo Mix".... so check into that, that's probably the only thing you're missing dude. If you want further help, once you get to that window? tell us the options you have, and me or someone else can reccomend what selection you should be using... of course, when testing, make sure the volume's cranked on that selection too.

Ok I tried it today and it works. Only problem is that its very quiet. I have to put my ear right up to the speakers to hear it. Also all the volumes are up. What's causing this?

K, can you elaborate more? did you try what I said or what someone else said, or did you just try recording again and it just happened to start playing audio? also, are you recording by mic or by the method I showed ya?

Well I don't have a mic so I'm using the method you told me. But I used someone else's method and it works but its just very quiet. Like I can hear the sounds out of my speakers after I record it but its barely audiable.
