when playing Halo on the PC, do you use a regular mouse pad or trackball? and do you think any of them have an advantage? i use a trackball and i like it cause you can spin around faster but i dont know if thats an advantage

I swear up and down by the Logitech MX700. It combines the wireless freedom of movement with the responsiveness of a USB optical mouse. Very nice, if you ask me. :) Even though it's optical, I tend to use a mousepad for assured responsiveness, as sometimes opticals can crap out on even moderately reflective surfaces, like desk tops.

hm... i use a wireless optical mouse and a wireless keyboard. i literally played halo from accross the room from my computer (though i couldnt see what was going on lol) ive tried trackballs and they seem too hard to controll... when you controll them you move too slow, and when you just spin them they never stop. i dont like it, i use my microsoft optical mouse.

Optical yes cordless no. Although 9/10 times they're fine, sometimes they're subject to interferance or some other malfunction which causes split-second lag. Nothing beats the shear speed and precision of a corded mouse. I have one made by Mercury, 5 button, it rox. Cheap aswell. Anyone still using a ball mouse is seriously missing out, or at least causing themselves unnecessary grief.

yeah, wireless lag can cost your player's life. opticle mice are verry good, though my parents stole mine.

now, for thoes who hate trackballs, true, at first they doo suck. it's something you need to get used to. it takes some time, but when you figure out how to use it well, you'll discover it's much better. this is because you're not screwed if you forget something as trivial as a mousepad when you goto a lan. also, they usualy have more buttons on a trackball, giving you more options.
