I would have boulders you could melee down the hills onto the offensive team. Or you could shoot rockets to knock them down the slope.

ok this is a straightforward CTF and Team Slayer Map. there are two tenches that are 75 meters wide and have a building just behind them in the center of the trenches (this is where the fal is and it is where you spawn if no enemies are around and tehy have ammo and health kits and stuff the trenches face eachother. In the middle is a forest with trees everywhere barely big enough gaps to drive warthogs in the center (that is where it is the thickest) there are turetts in the building and in the trenches (and some tiny fbunkers in the forrest)
That is what i would like to have Tell me how you like it

SB-117

That sketch inspired me to put my sketch for a map onto computer, unfortunately I dont have a scanner though so I took ages making a map on paint...see here

http://www.angelfire.com/games5/ash55/map.JPG

I'm sorry if its a bit confusing. It would be good for team slayer (with the sniper areas and the road system in the middle) and CTF modes. If the giant glass thing in the middle of the roof breaks completely, you cant get a run-up so you cant use the ramps to reach the sniper rifle or rocket launcher. You would have to choose either shoot out the glass to stop the opponants from getting these weapons. Or keep it in place so you can get them yoursleves.

I forgot to put in the energy sword so I guess it would be next to the rocket launcher as its a difficult place to get to. There should be a button on the roof which creates a new layer of glass but it takes ages to get it to work? Anyway this is just an idea...

Ah yes, the stairs leading to the roof are wide enough for the warthog by the way...

here is my idea this map would be ctf mainly you start at your base
_______________________________
/ base /---------------------x 0 y---------/
/-------------/ ----------------------- 0----------------/
/-------------/ - minibase - - /---------------/
/------------- /------------------------/----------------/
/ -------------0-----------------------/----------------/
/______y_ 0__x__________/__base__/
(i thought it would make more since with a map)
_and / =cliffs (cant get past)
0=gates (can be opened and closed)
Here is the deal on top of each gate is a rocket launcher to help defend the gate there is a control pannal on a ladder next to the gate marked x. the pannel is at the top of a tower this is the only way to get veicles in.
the enviroment would be desert like with very few trees and a few cactus
The minibase includes 2 turrets 1 pointed twords each gate the minibase also has many powerful weapons includeing a sniper rifle
back to the gates the gates can be closed only by the control pannel marked y you have to stand on a lever untill the entire gate closes which takes almost 30 sec while doing this you are a sitting duck for rockets and snipers this is the only way to close the gate
the gates also have a ladder on them so you can enter the teams base area without opening the gate once you are over the wall however you can hit a awich by the gate to make it open easily(sorry about the dashes the map didnt turn out well)
this map contains all veicles but using banshees is not addviseable
srry to be slim on the details but my food is here

This level would be good for close range battles. My level would be fairly small, around twice the size of Battle Creek. There would be 2 floors, which ran all the way down the level. There would be stairs and elevators at certain points, where the ledges on the upper floor curve inwards. There would be little rails to lean over and fire down below. Of course the top would have an advantage with better cover. To even that out, most of the good weapons would be on the bottom floor. Back on the rail, there would be glass bottoms on the rail, so you can shhot through them after they've been destroyed, and you can use it to drop behind enemies silently. There would be bases on he top floor and on the bottom floor on the opposite side. They would be large, maze-like interiors, with plenty of cover. The flags for CTF would be at the backs of the bases. On the way to the base, there would be plenty of little rooms, for ambushes. There would be pillars holding the top floor, and if you destroyed enough, the top floor would collapse, killing all bellow, except where the stairs where, and the immeadiate surrondings. This would leave alot of rubble, alot of cover.

I have wated awhile to get this idea out (almost 1 1/2 months) so here goes. Large slightly "U" shaped canyon 1 giant mech 2 bases 4 outposts 8 smaller mechs. two teams fight for control of large, lumbering, powerful mech; the cockpit of this thing is high, really high, using the new boarding techniqe you would jump on to one of the mech's feet and climb the exterior of it. You can't use wepons making you an easy target to the enemy's 2-3 snipers (1 in each outpost). The whole object of the game is to capture the mech turn it around walk to the enemy's base and pummul? (PUM-uhl) the crap out of them till you die or destroy their base. The canyon would be hevaly forested and snowy the two bases would be on ethir end of the "U" the outposts could be anywhere along the canyon walls and would have respawning sniper rifles the only problem is that if you die you respawn in your base and have to walk back to the outpost. 1 outpost would be directlylinked to your base via catacombs but two outposts are up for grabs hence the 2-3 snipers. The smaller mechs would be equiped with 2 chain guns and frag gernde launcher the purpose of these mechs is to defend the base of the giant mech and to protect the entrances to outposts but some times you can sneak into the enemy's base and wreak havoc from the inside while the other team is concentrating on the threat outside. Perfect for teamwork.

oh yeah, I notice one guy posted a simaler idea whith a covenant morter gun MY IDEA IS COMPLEATLY UNRELATED Icame up with it about a month before reading this thread.

I would make an island, well actually 3 islands. They would all be tropicle climate and stuff and when you first jjoin that map all the Human players start out in pelican and at the begginning you all choose who's the pilot. And if your covie your all started out on the island with turrets and stuff. But when the humans land they have to have a good pilot or they crash, and then the covies win.But if you have a good pilot that pilot would go on one of 2 islands not made into a base yet.So once you land the humans are offense and covie are defense because you have to make your way through plasma cannons, pistols, turrets, etc and take em out.And once you die your like out of the game.Intil.... another pelican comes. Then you get the idea.... run up through the jungle killing all the enimies as possible using tactics and stratigies and conquer there base claim there flag throw it of cliff and put the UNSC flag up.

Or if that doesn't please you.

This map would be a giant map about 100 game miles to the other base. And would be like a giant ice sheet so snow, ice, water, ice breaks, etc. How would you ever fight you may ask.You take your vehicles depending on the side you chose like Warthogs,ATV's,Banshee's,etc. So which would end up as a huge war in the middle. But on you way across the map you will encounter terrain difficulties, and Transport Buildings wich allow you to go closer to the enemy base from within your base. But this map would be for the truly have time to waste type of people like me,and wish it could go on 50 players.

covenent drinking club, lol, I can hear the grunt's screaming already
Posted by: VeNoM4
Ok here are a few unserious ideas's that are stupid but potentially fun!

First One: Warthog Sumo

Players: 2-16 (Teams or Free for all)

Basically have a large circle and the object of the game would be to push each other's warthogs off the side of the map into oblivion. It would be cool to customise what they fall into such as water, pillows, lava or a covenent drinking club. You could either have a flat ring or one with obstacles or bumps. Winner would be last team or player standing.

Second One: Death Ring

Players: 2-16

It would be melee combat presented like a boxing match with 2-16 players for a battle royal! Basically it would be a fairly small sqaured circle which would have a ramp for the players to get on. Once they are all on the ramp would retract so they can't leave. Ring would be surrounded by fire. Then the bell would sound and the last team or player alive wins the
belt(s)!. Teams or all against all.

Here is my slightly more serious one.

Idea: The Man with the Golden Halo Pistol.
Players: 4-16
Terrain: Like the level the Silent Cartographer from halo 1 but on a island in the middle of a lake surrounded by forest.

Somewhere on the Halo Ringworld there is a prototype of the origional human pistol that terrorized countless players in Halo 1. This one was deadlier then the standard issue pistol as it killed in 1 shot. Two Search teams from the Red and Blue teams have travelled from Earth to find this pistol to dominate the upcoming war against each other. To find the pistol they must search a underground human facility and crack a code to unlock the location of the pistol. Clues of the code are scattered across the errie concrete catacombs.

The first part of the map would be finding the Golden Pistol. Whoever finds it first will have a advantage especially if the man with it is a super shot. Once a team finds the pistol the real battle begins.

Then the second part begins and the two teams will enagage in a war to wipe each other out to become the unchallenged masters of the Spartan Super soldiers.

As the two teams find the pistol there will be vicious fighting on the area as they try to stop each other from finding the Golden Pistol. Once the pistol has been found the batlle begins proper with dropships dropping off tanks, warthogs etc at each base. Both teams objectives will be to destroy 3 gun emplacements that each team have at the edge of thier bases, then to break into the central base by opening the main gate that each base has. Then finally to activate the self destruct sequence that each base has to blow it up.

Once the base has been blown up the team who has had its base blow up can no longer respawn and will be fighting for thier lives. Once a team has been totally crushed then that team has lost and the other has found total victory in the battle.

This has to have a lot of players or it will have not too many firefights. Maybe this idea is too complicated but tell me what you think!

You guys are still doing good on these ideas, but cmon...lets focus here and come up with some hardcore stuff that would rip Bungie's face off! In depth and isanely unique ideas are what we need. This stuff should be huge and horrific. I'm still working on my forth level. I'm going to release it with concept art and 3D images. So cmon, kick those brain cells into gear, take your ginko, and stop drinking diet sodas. Use the Game Informer Magazines printwork to help boost your creativity. We need the kind of levels that would make Bungie's jaw drop. Can you do it. I know that I'll go down trying!

Dishout

This map would be a humungus map is 6 times bigger than Assault On The Control Room.It would be a giant canyon, each of the ends of the map would be an curved upstraight wall. But at the bottom of the maps you can find buildings the doors to get inside the canyon!Yes,get inside the canyon. No not a glitch but a huge base well on the outside parts of the canyon are just tunnels leading to the middle were the real fun begins.Ok back to the top. It's a huge map curved in on the outside, but in the middle is a huge spire actually a giant rock spire thats hollow inside. You've seen photos of sand worn spires like stalagtites, but in the deserts.Ok it's curved outside then going up to become a spire which goes up VERY high and I mean like atleast 25,000 feet above see level.So... back to underground were I left off in the tunnels leading to the middle which is a 25,000 foot high spire.Now.... I said it was holllow but not all of it not for the skinny spire. Now the parts where it's hollow is a huge base of corridors of vehicle rooms actually hangers for banshee's.Now when flying in the banshee's you can get all the hell the way up to the top of the spire. But the only way is to jump from banshee to the tiny 1 person spot.If you miss it you get to see you fall all the way to the bottom of the canyon. But then it shows you maybe land up against a rock and you would tear apart with blood spraying as you veins and arteries are showing. But in the deepest bottom of the canyon there's a tiny stream which lead into the base also but usually just let you body (Or what's left) get filtered from the bases drinking water.

If this is not good enough tell me i'll make another one.

Well...it would be great for aerial dog fights, but 6 times assault on the control room is tooooooooo big, and 25,000 foot high spires are too high. I would like that the only way into the spire would be from the underground cavern part of the stage. Bungie already seems to be on top of things with the stalagmite in there stage called waterworks though.

Ok heres my latest idea one underwater human city and one covenant cruiser. The city is about half a mile underwater and the cruiser is floating on the surface. The city would be almost leveled and what wasnt destroyed in the covnant raid can be toppeled (100% destuctable enviorment). The main mode of transportation would be small 1-2 person subs and teleporters. The covnant cruiser would have many points of entry some out of and under water. Insted of having to cross a feild or make your way through a forest you would have to go up and down creating spectaculer underwater battles. Well thats my idea any modifications/suggestions praise and whatever the antonym of praise is, is welcome.

This is a great post. Here is what I would love. I heard something about a new gamemode called assault, but haven't heard anything more about it. It is like capture the flag, except that you are trying to bring a bomb into the other teams base. This is the main type for this level. Now to my level.

Name: Swashbuckler

Imagine off the coast of Africa not far from Zanzibar four battleship groups face off (I know I have no reason to expect sea vessels, but work with me). Two ships would be covenant style and two would be human. The ships would be spread on a large map which is an archipellego (I think I spelled that wrong, sorry), in the center is a larger island. On the island is an ruined human base (recently destroyed by covenant). This would require at least two and not more than four teams to play right. The ships are not placed evenly, (such as at the four corners) but all are the approximate same distance from the island. The ships are equiped with everything from fighters to turrets and all weapons of the respective race. (a human vessel would not have a plasma sword on it of course) Anyway, the ships are also destructable, and the goal is to destroy the other teams ships by any means possible. Whether from air strikes or planting the bomb. Each ship has a teleporter to the island, humans go directly to the base, covenant are outside in brush. As in Halo, you can walk underwater, so a sneaky way onto the enemy ship is to walk out and climb up the ancor or some other thing right onto their deck. Imagine the chaos; air strikes, enemys teleporting in, bad guys sneaking up your anchor chain. There is only one sniper riffle, it would be on the top of the island base's tower, from which you have a view of all the ships' decks. Evil! But watch out, people aren't usuall very fond of snipers and there are only two ways out:the stairs and a fatal fall (ouch). All human weapons (except the sniper riffle of course) are found in the armories of the human ships and vice versa for the covies. The only spot with both in the same place is the island, which I will now describe.
The island is extremely dense in udergrowth, making it hard to see so a smart player can sneak slowly enough and avoid detection from motion sensors. The area around the base is cleared, making it dangerous to cross. The base compound itself is suronded by a wall which is destructable, but not easily. On the wall are turrets. Inside this wall are several buildings; one is a barraks, another a garage (with human vehicles. Yay!), a third is an armory (which has been trashed by covenant as it was the most resistan to their attacks), the last is the tower; which is only a set of stairs winding up to an obsevation booth and command center. As I said before, this is where the sniper riffle is. Though this is the only place to find the sniper's weapon, there are many places from which it can be used. The dense underbrush makes the island a sniper's paradise. The map will appeal to other types of players, since it has close combat, assualts and piloting options as well.
What do people think? Was I specific enough? Questions/comments/criticisms?
