ok...um wow what i DONT GET it this
I ran the video 10+ times in Video Mach, and he is jumping in front of 12+ brutes, along with 1 in the middle who has a hammer like Tartarus did, and he appears to have a Red FLAG, (Squad Leader) and AT LEAST 7 Wraiths.
The Voice Com in his HUD is saying to a Marine,
"Any sign of the Chief?" "No sir, I think we've lost him."
The Master Chief responds....maybe to himself or over the voice com "Not yet..." Then it appears he makes a suicide attempt to stop the Covenant. As we all know, the master chief would never do this by himself, and barely with MARINES behind him, and especially when its in flat open land, with no cover
Another thing you cannot ignore is this, THIS IS HUGE, when he first stands up, you see a HUGE cloud in the background, and in the middle....is an opening, if you compare that same cloud, to the trailer, its the SAME EXACT cloud!!
Meaning, that whatever is going on, hes still in a desert, and that could is Directly ABOVE the ARC, and its spinning. The Master Chief is staring up at the sky, which, and right after that you see a blue shot going up and out of that cloud...which as we all know means that something has been activated. Either its the arc, and he knows its over, or its just a wraith shot going insanely high, your choice.
Respond and tell me what you think so far haha
Heh, ya watch it a few more times. Its just about 5 Wraith shots going up in the sky trying to reach John 117, it is not the massive blue beam that comes out of the ARK.
BTW - all this mumbo-jumbo about "if the ARK goes off it kills like the whole planet" that I keep hearing about I think is a bunch of bull. All I think is that its a massive blue beam that shoots off due to some sort of acitivation in the ARK. I do not think the ARK is meant to blow up the planet or something like that. I dont really know, I just know Halo 1 + 2, I've never read the books.
i agree with the last guy, i think it is a signal to the halos all around space and they do something weird. but i coulfd be wronge and it blows up earth but i highy dout it
Time to lock this -blam!- down... the ARK sends a message to the 7 Halos (now 6, plus 1 deactivated) and the halos begin (as i like to call it) the purification process which would destroy any possible vessels for the flood (which means every single friggin thing within 24,000 light years of the 7 halos would be destroyed). If you'll recall, the Halo that The Arbiter & crew deactivated caused a sort of stanby signal to the remaining Halos. And If you also remember, Maranda asked the Oracle where to go to activate (or for wat they want, de-activate) the purification process. "why the ARK, of course" were his exact words. so if u actually pay attention to cut-scenes instead of doing what ever the hell it is you guys are doing, you'd know that if the friggin ARK was activated then Earth, and every living thing within 24,000 light years from the halos would be F***ed... But oh I wonder? What about the areas around the Halo that chief destroyed? No idea in hell! W8 for the game to find out!!! And what about the part when it blows the -blam!- out of everything??? How will we ever stop the flood from kicking our asses without blowing the -blam!- out of ourselves???? How the Hell am i supposed to know!?!? Leave it to Bungie for coming up with Crazy ass complications...

Close but not quite. The Halo's only kill sentient life with sufficient biomass to sustain the flood. Thats how humans are alive today, the Forerunners activated the Halo's as a last resort and everything alive today was spared because it was in too early a stage to host the flood.
The Ark is not necessarily on Earth, or in the game play trailer. Its common practice with video games developers to mis guide its fans in order to create more hype for the game.
The Halo's don't use explosive force, you can tell from a combination of the books and the game thats its a wave of pure energy that kills things. How this energy kills, I do not know. Most likely just kills things instantly.
your first add on was already stated in the line where i said it would destroy every POSSIBLE VESSEL for the flood!!!
You said the purification process which would destroy any possible vessels for the flood (which means every single friggin thing within 24,000 light years of the 7 halos would be destroyed).
You do NOT elaborate on what the vessels could be, and based on what you said, you stated that every living thing in existence (even a fly!) is a potential flood host.
