Oddball, invisible carrier with sniper rifles only on boarding action. Could never find the guy with the ball, and when you could, you could never shoot him. It was boring, and that was with ten people!

If i could custom mod the worst gametype ever on halo pc, here is how it would be:
Sidewinder.
All needlers, no nades
16 players
mod the warthog so there is only a driver seat, and only one warthog.
no teams
all invisible, 400% health.
rally with 400 check points.

That is my dream "Most terrible game ever." My reality "Worst gametype ever" went like this:
Blood gulch
8 players.
CTF Pro.

The mode itself is actually pretty fun. It was the people i was playing with. Somehow, 3 hicks who were all brothers were playing, and were all on my team. It was their first time playing, and there mouths dropped when they saw the hog. All three of them piled in, and drove around yelling about how their truck had a Hemi. They somehow stole the other sides warthog and would run into eachother over and over, while I was still trying to steal the flag. The other team got two scores in 10 minutes, and after that i convinced them to kill the hick bros. we pretty much sniped them with rockets for the rest of the game. God it sucked.

I'd have to go with Chiron, all rockets, respawn growth/suicide penalty, limited nades and 2 players. Well, anything with respawn/suicide time growth or Odd Man Out sucks. I'm a big fan of everyone playing.

Also, I hate games with lives, and snipe only games.

However, Chiron with 16 people, infinite grenades, rockets, no time growths and 200% health is kinda badass.

I don't understand your problems with all rockets.

I love games with all rockets, inf nades, 400 health...and other stuff.

But seriously, I don't like games on the bigger levels...generally. I mostly like my games with awkward settings(shotties, 50% health, no shields, for example) on maps such as Longest, Prisoner, and Wizard.

So, my peeves= Conforming. Basic gametypes=sucks. BG and SW=sucks.

But the worst I've ever heard was in the first post.

Hey what's up everyone... I'm working on a little story for the site and I wanted to get some feedback/ideas from you guys. You see, this past week after E3 I went to participate in a good ole fashioned LAN party at some peeps house. Well, all was fun and good until inevitably someone fires up what just might be the worst possible gametype settings imagineable. I'm talking 16 player oddball, invisible players, 16 balls on Chiron TL34... Yeah, exactly.

So, have you encountered any games during your own LAN events that make you cringe at the mere thought of them? A gametype so horrendous that it manages to suck every last bit of fun out of the game? If you have an experience to share, send me a message or you can reply to this post...

2 players, 400%health, shields on, invisible players, sidewinder, shotguns. the pain. it hurt.
another one is team shotguns in Chiron, invis players. of course anything in Chiron sux.

hmmm.... well, i have a story about what everyone in my chapter thought was the worst gametype ever, however, i personally thought it was a blast.

CTF on wizard, flag doesnt return when you touch it, rifles only (this means plasma rifle and AR only), 3 caps to win, friend indicators off.

Basically its a hail of bullets, grenades, and plasma, and you have to fight visciously for every inch you want to move the flag.

Good and scrappy with no sniping. I loved it. But the game went on for about 45-50 minutes and there was only one capture for each team. The complaining rose to a fever pitch and i reluctantly ended the match. And I'm the worst player in my chapter. Go figure.

Not exactly the worst, but definitely boring. (For everyone but the defender.) 1 person tries to defend a base against 4 or 5 attackers. If you're defending, it's a blast. If you're attacking, it's really boring because there's only one target for you to kill. Therefore, the defender usually gets the highest number of kills every single time. This is fun if you're doing it on CTF, but boring if it's slayer.

The worst gametype I've ever done was 400% health AND shields, with rocket launchers only. Eventually, it just got down to back-and-forth melee attacks until the unlucky person died.

In fact... it was the FIRST gametype I ever made. No Kudos to me, but hey! Now I make AWESOME gametypes!

anything on chiron or with radar you cant sneak up on people and one of the most fun things in the game is whacking people in the back and then humping them

Anything less than 8 players in BG or SW ATTEMPTING to play CTF. Ack! Gag!

It takes forever because by the time one of the two free players gets the flag the other is most likely dead and can't provide any cover while the flag covers vast areas...

my freind came up with a game type called paintball. i hate it, he loves it. ok its hang em' high, no sheilds, 100% health, with only plasma wepons. blue and red teams stay on one side of ground floor and when it starts, can only stay on your side and have to hide behind the pillars. seriously, its boring. Halo is all about getting fragged and fragging back. getting down there and smackin em' in the head. hiding behind a pillar is just NOT Halo.

dead bodies everywhere, shot in the back all the time ,
the bad thing is they shoot you as you respawn and with time growth??...

The worst one I ever set up was the worst anyone set up, well almost. It started at a LAN party. 13 people including me. I set up a game in Wizard, all rockets, infinite grenades. Now that was actually a blast, but what came after that just about everyone hated. Wizard, rockets, infinite grenades, now this is where it starts to get bad, King of the Hill, hill moves pretty moderately, 5 min. to win. You were in the hill for only about 5-10 sec. If you were lucky, you could hide or run around in circles and get about 15-20 sec, tops. And if you think you can defend your self, theres just no way you can with 12 people coming at you with rocket launcher. Oh yeah, did I mention no teams?

2 players, 400% health, shields, "Sidewinder", no vehicles, plasma weapons, non-infinite grenades, invisible players, normal oddball, 1 ball (random ball-spawn location), 15 minutes to win, no radar, 15 seconds for all penalties (suicide, respawn, respawn time growth), etc.,

yah there have been alot of -blam!- ones, but probly 2 players invisible players snipers no motion tracker and on lan so no screen peeking HAS too be the worst and most boring, but to turn this thread around, lets do BEST game types!

chiron, it owns for lan party on teams

I was on Mac Halo, (not console Halo, but the same thing). Joined a multiplayer game on gephyrophobia, huge bridge map, and it was terrible! 16 player CTF, all invisible with sniper rifles and no sheilds. Just kind of sat there wondering.....OMG, WTF???. Of course it was a very interesting game, (as well as a major pain to make a headshot!). In short...it sucked.

4 players on gulch playing 2v2 Race up to 5 minutes with camoflauge on and no shields.

For such a small amount of people, it took 2 1/2 hours.
