Definetly if you shoot the tanks o the grunts they should explode.

I really wouldnt want "extreme gore" in Halo, except if it gives the game a high maturity rating, keeping all the little kids out of XBOX Live...that would be sweet.

I think it is an excellent idea. I always thought they should have done more if it was going to get a MATURE rating. Like if I take a shotgun, and contact shoot an elite......

-blam!--slapping with the wet end of a rocketed person's arm - I love it!

enough gore for Halo 2 to deserve its mature rating. no more. i don't want to see some overly gory title like resident evil or silent hill. those were too gory to be any fun. although something a little closer to the Unreal II realm. not to gory, and not so clean that the game should be made for little kids or people with weak constitutions. maybe an arm blown of here, a leg there, not to much blood, and maybe the occasional head on a stick.

Bits and pieces flying everywhere, entrails spilling out, limbs and sinews thrashing and spewing crap all over the place......Naw, i'll keep the 2-D crap ANY day.

I think that the odd arm or leg flying skywards would be cool. Especially if it came from a cool rocket or frag explosion.

Also, the sniper rifle is meant to be powerful. Head shots kill in one. So how about the power of the bullet rips the head off the poor victim. It be cool to be walking along with your team mate and then...BANG! He's taken out by the enemy.

Another point, when a sniper shot goes over you (and its being fired from a distance) you don't hear the shot from the rifle. That's OK because I suppose you wouldn't, but what about the noise from the whizzing bullet? That kind of 'ZOOM' like noise.

a bit more blood and the occasional lost limb. thats more gore but not doing it overboard. i think if you we're shot with a rocket at point blank range it should be a little more gory and realistic. the same dying animations over and over would suck

I agree and disagree, I think Bungie got the amount of blood that comes out of a body when shot is perfect. But I do agree with flying body parts from a large explosion.
About the Sniper tearing someones head off, do you mean having the head go rolling off your teammaters shoulders? Or just dissapearing in a cloud of blood and bone fragments??

i disagree, have you ever seen anyone actually get shot? it isn't nice and from one bullet theres more blood than you would realise. hollywood is a lot to blame theres less blood than there should be even in 'realistic' movies. in t.v theres less blood to for younger audiences, sometimes people get shot on tv and there isn't any blood at all!
anyway in conclusion, i think they should add a LITTLE bit more blood. (no so much as its gross) and maybe decapitation for the energy sword, after all it is a lot like a lightsabre in some ways and that burns through limbs

When i said perfect i didnt mean to "real-life" hell ive never seen a real bullet wound.
I just thought the amount of blood in the game was not over the top, yet not under the bottom (:s) either!

Mutilation would be great when things like rocket launchers hit you square in the face. The flood gets mutilated, why not everything else? Not too overdone either, of course. Another example would be perhaps the Covenant murdering civilians who would not evacuate when told...(even though the entire Earth is being attacked). And finally, I've always prayed that at least for every 100 grunts killed, 2 would explode or be asphyxiated if shot in the METHANE TANK attached on their backs.

actually it all depends where the person is shot. its not like if you get shot in the foot all your blood is gonna go rushing out of your body. but yes i agree that there should be more blood coming from the aliens. not so much the marines cause id say thats a good amount but for the grunts there needs to be more. also it would really be cool if you shot a covenant and there is a bullet whole or a burn wherever you shot it.

yeah just a few body parts would be good enough especially from a nade, RL is fun but a nade is SO much more satisfying that a rocket imo especially from a stick plasma grenade i mean come on! if a nade stuck to u like that there wouldnt be enough of u left to do the flying body's that u seen in the current halo

i dont beleive bungie would put a lot of gore in this game, considering the marketing involvement and buzz around it, even though they're adult audience is obviously strong, they wouldny rule out an entire generation from buying or playing it, considering it will be the biggest game release of all time, that would be dumb to do. that being said i wouldnt mind scalping a jackal or two.

I want it to be more gorey *sp?* but not overly gorey. I want to see a few limbs fly, but not every time I fire a bullet. I dont want to shoot a grunt and then have it explode in a million pieces. I would only like to see that much gore when I hit something with a rocket or something else explosive, or the energy sword, or a shot gun blast right to the head. I dont want it to be as bloody as Doom or GTA with the limbs cheat.

Leaving aside aesthetic considerations, I don't want to see anymore then what we currently have for technical reasons. To make limbs go flying off we'd need to modify the skeletal structure of every figure in the game and add quite a few more polygons.

Worse, you'd have to recode the basic physics engine to cover the new possibilities. Just how many DU does it take to a limb to tear off the hand, or the elbow or the entire arm at the shoulder? How far would it fly based on the weapon and the damage?

In truth, adding this functionality would cause them to lose their focus on other more important things like new aliens, more variety of weapons, vehicles and equipment and so on...

No of course not. b/c that would just be an unnecessary thing that would just clutter up the game when you could put something cool in it like new weapons.

I don't want it sick gory, just real gory. Like you shoot a grunt with a rocket and its body should get mauled, bu it does not have to be sick.

HECK YA< I WOULD LOVE THAT, BUT IT MIGHT GET A HIGHER RATING! THEN GAMERS LIKE ME WHO WERE 11 WHEN THEY STARTED PLAYING HALO WOULD MISS OUT ON THE FUN! OF COURSE I'M OLDER NOW BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP ME!

I agree I would rather like it if say you shoot a elite with a shot gun in close range and pieces of his armor comes flying off, or reall just visable marks of damage on the characters themselves.

not gore, but a little more violence, like a small blood spurt if you get shot, not decapatation of guts
