Man there is nothing i wont touch, except chiron but that goes without saying =P
I personally never use motion trackers.
Things id reccomend are
CTF: any settings, single flag, two flags, invasion. Any of these are immense, the feeling i got running my first flag back to my base will stay with me forever! (I prefer playing this in stages that support vehicles)
Rockets in Longest: sending a random rocket down a corridor then hearing someone scream as it hits them in the face is ace! (hey that rhymes)
Oddball: Make sure you turn the objective indicator off, and have it in a small stage so hiding is more difficult
No shields, No Snipers 400% health: Now thats a firefight
Well thats about it from me, hope if you play em you like em!
P.S. in team games do not use friend indicators, this way you sometimes get "blue on blue" incidents (or red on red depending).... usually if ur teammates are tardy!

Common you need 2 do free for all battle creak! i mean that fun,
when you play 2vs2 then there is a person dying every 1-30 secs also its so fun playing ctf in that map because its so small.

Team slayer 50% health, no shields, sniping, no motion tracker, invisible players, no team icons. Enjoy.

my favorite:

Game Type: Slayer (NOT TEAMS)
Weapons: Rockets
Motion Tracker: optional, but reccomended
Health: Normal settings. Anything higher than 100% health is just stupid. who can honestly survive a rocket launcer to the face!?!?!?
Shields: usually doesn't matter. you're dead first rocket anyway.
Best map for all this: PRISONER

Hmm i dont like using motion trackers, i think it removes a fun part of gameplay, which is getting behind people and hitting them in the back of the head!

I don't really have any input to this. Its more like asking people to give me some feedback. Please help, I'm sure you will if you read on.

My friends that I system link with insist on playing almost EXACTLY the same type of match.

That is an 4 vs 4 match, team slayer, 50 points, all vehicles and custom weapons. Also, no motion tracker, 'normal' health settings (100% health, with shields) and the usual, like friends appear on map. Stuff like that.

They only ever play this on 2 maps. Sidewinder and Blood Gulch. (They once played on Hang 'Em High, the rest of the maps, they won't touch)

I bet your thinking, "That doesn't sound TOO bad". Well for all you Halo fans, imagine how many system link games you've had. Imagine that number and putting every single match in the settings that I've stated. At first yeah its OK, but now it just feels like constant, predictible killing.

I've sat at home on the multiplayer mode (on my own) trying to think of some good settings for matches. I've come up with a few and awaiting the next LAN party. Anyone have any suggestions on good matches?

No motion tracker, no friend indicators, and at least 4 people.

3 capture CTF on Battle Creek is always a good time. Lots of killing and you really need to learn to strategize (sp?) with your team. A good old fashioned rumble on Battle Creek is always fun too.

Warthog War. Two teams (3v3) in blood gultch and the only way to gain kills in when your in a warthog. Hard to keep the rules intact but when you get people to obey the rules this is one of the most fun things ever. Oh, frag greneades only and rockets only.

one of our all time favorites is shotguns, 50% health, no shields, free for all, in wizard. That is insane.

Try doing this next time your at a big LAN party. It may be really hectic, but boy is it a blast. Slayer, 50 kills, 100% health plus shields (normal), Rockets, infinite grenades, in Wizard. You die like every 5-10 sec, 10- 20 if your lucky and learn to be on top of things, and almost as long as you want to if you hide like a coward and wimper in the corner. But the best way to get the most kills is to be right in the middle if things.

Thanks guys for that input. Those sound like really EXPLOSIVE games. If you read my usual match you would see that my games usually contain little explosives and lots of sniper shots.

I've made note of those types of matches and will definately take them to the next LAN party! Cheers!

Sorry for 'bumping' this thread up but I really need a few more ideas. If you have any input please put down the setting you have.

I got a pretty good idea. How about no motion tracker, indicators, invisible, rockets only. you can work out the rest. Kind of like if you're marked you're dead sort of thing, i haven't got to try it myself yet. I think it's best on sidewinder though

I HAVE A GREAT ONE FOR YA!!!

Me and my buddies came up with this one and its one of our new favs. we used to be big on blood gulch, sidewinder, and hangem high. But this new one gets played just as much now. Its very fun 2v2 or 4v4. havent played it with anything higher yet. It may sound like it sucks but try it, get to know the level, youll love it. We call it....

SHOTTY

MAP: Chill Out
Gametype: CTF = 5 or 10 captures (personal prefrence, we play to 10)
Weapons: Shotguns only
Other options: NO SHIELDS, No Motion Tracker, or Nav Points.

Its a real blast...just be quick w/ that trigger finger

I made a game that we play a few times every LAN party. Try this one out with your friends next time!

There are other rules in addition to these and they are there for a reason so please read to get the correct rules!
Game Name: Sniper Game
Game Type: CTF - In order for each team to respawn correctly
I also put it on single flag 15 captures, because the point of this game is NOT to CTF! The point is to SNIPE!

I put it on 5 lives, 50% health, no shields, sniper rifles. I am still tweaking the respawn time to avoid spawn kills but they are inevitably part of the game.

Boarding Action is the best, and Battle Creek is good too. Basically these are the only levels we play because they have a distinct midpoint.

Now the point of the game is to snipe the opposition until your team has the only survivors left.

No teleporting allowed, because that takes you to the other level, and recently the rule is if it is down to 1 on 1, then you are no longer allowed to get the invisibility. And no crossing the designated midpoint! You cant go to the other side on Boarding Action, and on Battle Creek, no crossing the creek. BloodGultch would be cool but the midpoint line is too sketchy, but if you have any other suggestions, let me know too!

Hopefully I have explained this game on here good enough, because this is an awesome game, but it only works well when opposite teams are on opposite tv's. There are obvious reasons for this.

ENJOY!

Any ?'s or improvements email me at oneshot187@yahoo.com
